The day of the gathering had finally arrived.
I stood in my room as the maids fussed over my outfit for it. They had already forced on a couple of different dresses and this only reminded me why I hated these get togethers.
"Please do not pull that— EPP!"
The maid behind me pulled on the corset and my eyes flew open.
Capitano who leaned up against the wall chuckled.
I sent a glare in his direction.
"Hey don't laugh at me! Otherwise I'll sick them on you next. Oh believe me they'd love to dress you up."
I could feel the women behind me looking over at Capitano with mischievous eyes.
Capitano stiffened up a bit and it was now my turn to laugh.
Unfortunately I wasn't laughing long because she pulled on the strings once more.
"Oh lord!" I bent over.
"Dont move princess."
They straightened me up again and one ran off to grab another dress. This dress was a light blue with white accents.
"Lets try this one!"
By the time they were finished I was looking like a proper princess. In the end, they decided to go with the light blue dress.
Capitano and I sat in the carriage on our way to Lady Miko's residence. It wasn't surprising that she was the one hosting this event. If anyone loved to gossip it was her.
I could already feel the exhaustion and we hadn't even arrived yet.
Capitano seemed to be enjoying my misery.
"Dont enjoy yourself too much," I commented glancing over at him, "They'll be after you the moment they see you."
Capitano still chuckled seemingly unbothered, but I knew these women. They were going to pester the life out of him.
Im sure lots of them would spend the evening fawning over him.
"We'll see whos laughing by the end of the night."
Capitano didn't reply and the trip continued silently until we arrived.
The carriage slowed down and I peeked out the window.
