As suspected Capitano had been bombarded by the noble ladies for the majority of the gathering.
They had finally settled down a bit and now the real gossip had begun.
"My goddess that man has no shame!" One of the noble ladies gasped.
"Gosh I'm not even sure what to say..." Another said shaking her head.
"Hes just so eccentric. How did that man ever become the king of a kingdom?" Yae commented with a sigh.
"You've met him before haven't you Y/N?" Another asked.
"Yes," I replied, "Yes he was interesting to put it nicely..."
Some of the ladies snickered.
"I heard hes quite the flirt too!"
"And childish!" Another added.
"No wonder they nicknamed him King Childe."
King Ajax or better known as King Childe, was the king of a nearby rival kingdom.
There were many kingdoms across the land, but two stood at the top. The first was ours the Kingdom of Inazuma. The second the one King Ajax ruled was known as the Kingdom of Snezhnaya. The two of our kingdoms had been at war for a long time now.
If Uncle Ayato had not been there then I would be in the same position as King Ajax. Like I, he had also lost his parents very young. Unlike I who had other family, Ajax only had himself and his siblings. Of course he still had his royal advisors and those who worked for his father previously, but he was the only one who could take on the throne.
He was young and childish, but the kingdom was still a force to be reckoned with. Ajax may have seemed foolish but I had met him and I could see it was only a facade. He knew what he was doing. That man was no idiot. I knew my uncle noticed as well, but he let it be.
"Speaking of King Childe... I've heard hes been eluding to some sort of alliance with the Kingdom of Sumeru."
I was paying attention now.
My eyes flickered over to the ladies who had said it.
"Really? But I thought the two kings did not get along? Why would Sumeru want to become allies with them?" One of the ladies questioned.
The Kingdom of Sumeru was another powerful nation. However, they were still smaller than us, but the kings of the two nations had never gotten along well. Sumeru tried to stay out of the war having no interest in picking sides. I figured if they did eventually join they would join us...
