I shuffled around through Lisa's books trying to find something I didn't have at home.
After a bit of searching I found a book on the ground that I hadn't seen before. Finding a nice spot in the library I cracked the book open and began reading.
Meanwhile I could hear and seeLisa trying to discreetly interrogate Capitano.
The two sat at a table with a cup of tea and some books.
"How has the castle life been are you adjusting?"
Capitano nodded his head in reply.
"And my little Y/N. Have you gotten used to her antics yet?"
I shot my head over in their direction, "Hey! Whos antics??"
Lisa chuckled and gave me a wink before looking back at Capitano.
He nodded his head once more and I shook mine in disappointment.
"Traitors... the both of you..." I muttered.
They both laughed and I returned to reading my book.
This was another book on the different kinds of magics but it seemed to be more in-depth than the ones I had at the castle. That is why I wanted to come here. She had a lot more information on magic than I'd be able to find at home.
I knew Capitano was right if I wanted to find my own magic I wasn't going to find it just reading books. Having said that, there was still a lot of information I could get from these books. Sometimes along with descriptions there would be stories or examples of people receiving there magic. So far there were a couple of patterns I had picked up on.
For one, a lot of people discovered there magic while interacting with the element. For example, Thoma had received his fire powers while trying to start a fire on a trip with my uncle.
Another pattern was that it was possible for people to develop these powers in an extreme situation. That day Thoma and Ayato had been stuck in the forest as Ayato had been injured. No one knew where they were or what had happened. Thoma was trying desperately to start a fire as the temperatures had been dropping rapidly and neither of them had felt heat in days. After many many failed attempts he had eventually done it. Much to his surprise it hadn't been the tools he was using but his own palms.
Sure obtaining magic could happen at random but that didn't mean it was only random.
"I see you're trying to help our little princess find her magic. I'm curious did you also have trouble finding yours?"
