By the time our gossip session had come to an end, the men had finished their dealings.

Thoma came up to let us know that Ayato had wanted to see me to discuss everything. That was fine by me after all I needed to know what exactly the arrangement would be. Yae being too nosy for her own good also wanted in. Thankfully Thoma had convinced her otherwise and she was now sitting outside with some snacks.

Currently, I was sitting in Ayato's study. It was only the two of us, the knight had gone off to be given a tour of the castle and to make some more permanent arrangements.

"So let me get this straight," I spoke, "I can't leave this place without him."

Ayato nodded, "Correct. I know it may seem a little invasive, but is it not better than having a whole group of guards following you around the kingdom?"

That was true... I always hated going out with a bunch of guards following behind me. It attracted way too much attention and as it was I was already attracting enough. Espically with being the princess.

"Okay so if I leave the castle he leaves too. What about being inside the castle?"

"That depends on where you go. I am not so worried about something happening to you here considering I have knights all over the place, but I am not against him remaining by your side either way."

I nodded, "What about sleeping? Does he get days off?"

Ayato laughed, "Do you take me to be some sort of monster? Of course, the man will get some days off. He is more than welcome to do as he pleases when he is not protecting you. I imagine he'll enjoy the training grounds."

The training grounds were an area where all knights in the kingdom were required to train. This was to ensure they were in top condition and focused on improving their skills.

But the more I thought about it the more I wondered if anyone would even be able to spar with him. Though I hadn't seen him as he fought those men he had held a sword against my uncle. That was no easy feat. That must have been part of the reason Ayato had taken a liking to him.

"Err he won't kill them will he?"

Ayato smiled, "I do hope not. He does not seem to take pleasure in hurting those who are of no immediate threat. Maybe some bumps and bruises, but I'm sure the others will be fine. They'll respect a man with such power."

He continued, "But in regards to sleeping, you'll still stay where you are. I plan to move him closer to your room, but he too is only human. I do not expect him to stay up all night waiting."

I let out a sigh of relief.

Well, at least my privacy wouldn't be completely invaded.

"Just think of him as your personal knight. He is there to ensure your safety. So do be good to him and please do not hesitate to ask him for assistance if such danger does occur. I know you can be stubborn sometimes."

I crossed my arms, "I will I will. Don't worry. Im not interested in getting kidnapped again myself."

Ayato smiled, "No lets not have that happen. Ah speaking of the man himself..."

Ayato glanced back and out the window.

I looked in the direction he was staring and noticed Thoma with the man outside.

As suspected they were by the training grounds.

Thoma with his usual happy demeanour seemed to be explaining everything down below. The knight listened attentively as people with the training grounds seemed to work just a little harder due to his presence.

I couldn't help but giggle at this.

"Seems word got around fast." I commanded.

Ayato nodded his head in agreement, "Theres no stopping rumors, but I'm sure he'll make a great addition to the kingdom."

"Well then count yourself lucky that he ended up at our door and not the other way around."

Ayato nodded once more, "Wel theres no need to worry about that for now. Why don't you go down and see the two of them? I believe we've about covered everything here. I should go check on Lady Yae."

I chuckled.

Ops... almost forgot about her for a minute.

"Tell her I'll come visit her at some point during the week. That'll make her happy."

Ayato got up from his chair and walking over to the door he held it open for me.

"No need to worry I'll inform her."

With a nod I walked out the open door and made my way toward the training grounds.
