A day had passed since we saw Lisa.

I was currently in a private training ground with Capitano.

Holding the sword tightly in my hands I repeatedly swung at the dummy. Capitano provided me feedback after a couple of swings and I'd readjust to try and improve.

As I got more comfortable using the blade my mind began to shift to other things.

"Capitano?" I called out his name.

Slash.

The dummy was struck in the side.

Capitano hummed in response.

"How much do you know about magic?"

I glanced at him from the corner of my eye.

He was looking at me as he replied humbly, "I have some knowledge on the topic."

Bang.

Another strike hit the wooden dummy.

"Yesterday when we were at Lisa's that book mentioned three types of magics I hadn't heard of. Do you know anything about them?"

After a few hits, Capitano responded.

"Yes, but as far as I was aware there were only two. The third one you discovered was also news to me."

I stopped hitting for a moment, "Wait really? How did you learn about them though?"

"Do not stop," Capitano answered, "The more you train the more Ill divulge."

I set my sights back on the dummy and continued to use the sword. Striking in different areas waiting patiently for him to go on.

Capitano had been very strict about training. He said that if I seriously wanted to learn something I'd have to work much harder to catch up. In his opinion, I should have been taught these skills ages ago. So, now he wanted to make up for lost time.

I couldn't say I disagreed with him there.

If I wanted to learn I'd need to work hard and put in the effort.

It was surprising how disciplined Capitano was. Perhaps some of that discipline would rub off on me too.

After a bit longer Capitano went on, "I was once the head knight of the kingdom. As the head knight I had the luxury of having access to our head mages library. Like Lisa, he also owed several books on ancient magic. I spent my free time absorbing the knowledge in those books."
