The group finished with the drone and were back on land before lunch time. JJ decides to drive Sam home, not wanting her to be alone in her thoughts. He knows that the anxiety of going home to her mother is eating her alive. The rest of the group happily found their own ways home, knowing that Sam didn't want a whole audience. He watches her closely as her hands stay balled in tight fists, and she gnaws relentlessly on her bottom lip.

"Can, can you pull over?" Her voice comes out squeaky and unsure. Instantly pulling over to the side of the dirt road, turning to face his upset girlfriend.

Before he can get a word out, she throws herself into his chest, wrapping her arms around his neck. He wraps his hands around her without hesitation holding her closely to his chest, feeling the ache in his heart when her body begins to shake in his arms. Her quiet sobs stifled into his shirt as he refuses to let her go.

"Sorry, god this is so embarrassing." She goes to move away but he grabs her, holding her in place.

"You have nothing to be embarrassed about Sam. I want all of you, and that includes the parts you try to hide." He whispers in her ear making her close her eyes enjoying the warmth of his body against hers.

"I needed this." She replies as they hold each other as tightly as they can, neither wanting to let go.

A few minutes pass before either of them build the courage to pull apart. With interlocked hands, the pair continue to drive towards the place they dread most. A comfortable silence falls over them as the sound of the radio and the dirt road distracts Sam from her busy mind. Seeing the girl so upset, rips JJ apart. Watching her anxious movements and having felt her shaking body in his arm, trying his best to let her handle it how she likes.

"Lets run away." His cuts through the silence, his serious tone making Sams face twist with confusion.

"What?" She laughs lightly, watching as his demeanour doesn't change. "Blondie, what planet are you on?" Grabbing his face in her hands, turning his attention of the road for half a second.

"Lets just keep driving, we'll hope on a fairy and never come back." His words make her laugh even harder pushing his head back so he can pay attention to the road ahead. He pulls over on the side of the road again.

"At this rate we are never going to get home." When her attempt to lighten his mood fails, she lets out an unsure chuckle. "Are you high?" Her giggle slowly dies when she realises there's not a speck of humor on his face. "Jay, we can't."

"Why not? Just think about it, we could catch the fairy to mainland and take the twinkie all around the country. Shove a mattress into the van and live out of it as we travel. Find cool surf spots and coastal towns. Just you, me and the water." Struggling to catch her breath, she watches as he tries to convince her of the life they could have.
