Jay rubs my back as he watches me with a worried look in his eyes. Kie and Pope sit in the front of the Twinkie as we race towards JJs cousin's place. The thumping in my head drives me crazy as I try my best not to be sick or go unconscious. Everything begins to feel foggy, having to lean onto Jays thigh for support. None of us having enough money to go to the hospital so we opt with getting JJs paramedic cousin to check for a concussion.

When the van comes to a stop, JJ holds my hand and my waist to slowly help me up. He leads me carefully towards the house as our friends follow close behind. I use my free hand to reach up and touch the back of my neck, only to feel the blood is still running from the back of my head.

"Hey, no, don't do that." Jay quickly moves my hand from the wound. He holds me tight to his body so I can stand as he bashes on the front door. "Ricky! Ricky, open up!" He shouts trying to get the probably sleeping mans attention. As he shouts, I realise his lip is still bleeding, I reach forward to wipe off the excess blood.

"Jay, you're still breathing. Are you okay?" I ask, concerned over his injuries. He chuckles lightly at my words before nodding.

"Sam, I'm fine. Let's worry about you." He quickly shuts down my concern as his cousin slowly makes his way through the house towards the front door. Panick spikes when I realise I hadn't gotten a good look at Pope since the fight.

"How about Pope? Is Pope oka-''

"He's fine, we are all fine. Baby, everything's okay." JJ says seriously, planting a soft kiss on my temple as Rickie opens the door.

"What the hell?!" Ricky yells in confusion, seeing the beaten-up teenagers on his doorstep. Jay pushes past him, leading me into the house as Ricky protests.

"She hit her head, we're scared she has a concussion. Please just check." Pope pleads as JJ sits me down on the couch.

Ricky finally agrees, going to get his kit while Kie goes to get me paracetamol and water from his kitchen. The whole time Ricky checks for symptoms and patches up my wounds JJ doesn't leave my side. His hand stays in mine despite everyone being gathered around us. When I look over to my friends, Kie raises her brows suggestively as she smirks at JJ and I. Rolling my eyes at her, knowing that I am going to have to explain later.

"She's fine. Possibly a slight concussion but nothing some pain relief and rest won't fix. Stay away from screens, avoid bright lights and don't do any physical activity." Jay nods at his cousins' words. He listens closely to the instructions like he is writing notes in his head. I smirk leaning over to whisper in JJs ear.

"Damn it." I joke, quiet enough so the others can't hear, he uses his hand to try his best to hide his smile.

"You're lucky you don't need stitches." Ricky tells me warningly before turning to face the blonde to my side. "No more fighting and showing up at my door in the middle of the night. You owe me JJ!" He tells him off as all of us stand up to leave.

The group hops into the car in silence, the dramatics of the day clearly making us all exhausted. Kie drives us to Pope's house as JJ keeps me curled up by his side. Pope suggested earlier in the evening that we could stay over at the Heyward's place tonight as his dad offered to pay us for helping at his store in the morning. The group stays quiet, the only noise is the sound of the muffled radio and JJs soft breaths.

My excitement peeks when I realise that Pope has a working shower, since Heyward's business needs a generator. Thank fuck! I'm so sick of sneaking into one of the Kook gyms just to have a shower. Pope lets out an anxious sigh when his house comes into view. All of us knowing his father isn't going to be happy seeing us coming home so late, covered in bruises and fresh blood.
