"We can still ask and see if he will tell us." Gabriel huffed. He knew that Will knew Magnus better than the rest of them, but still, he did not have to be a total pessimist about the whole thing. "I think the more concerning thing is how are we supposed to protect two Shadowhunters that don't trust other shadowhunters?"

"Do they even need it?" Gabriel's brother's words caught him off guard, and a bit angry.

"They sought asylum? You really think that they would ask for it if they did not need it?" He scoffed, he normally was not so short tempered but he had to deal with a lot of bullshit lately, and he doubted that he would be faulted for the way he responded to his brother's quite stupid question. "Besides, even if they don't trust us, there is a sense of safety in numbers. They are safer with other people able to back them-in spite of not entirely trusting them-then they are by themselves. Plus they don't know the area. That in itself was clear."

"True, they were confused about how to get to Magnus' house, despite him telling them. I don't know where they are from, but it isn't London" Will said with confidence.

"They also don't have the accents. That, I think, is the most obvious reason they aren't from london." Lucy stated, with a roll of her eyes. Will paused, glaring towards her, annoyed. Yes, they were all aware they didn't have the accents, but that did not really mean anything. They could have been camping out. Even then, Will has been in London for years and his welsh accents still acts up every now and again.

"The point, I think," Their leader spoke up again, interjecting from all the slowly growing tensions that were rising. "They need our help, that is clear, and we are going to help them, that is also clear. It does not matter what their abilities are, they are too young to even have them, which is concerning in and of itself. They are not of age and yet they fight just as good as the four of you?" That had them shutting up, because it was true. it was something Will and the Lightwoods had noticed and had left them deeply discomforted. The wounds on their bodies, the Runes that you should only get after fighting and winning your first Demon kills, some of which you don't get until after you kill a few hundred Demons, or certain Demon types, and yet they had been inked on their body, and it seems as though the Shadowhunters were completely unaware of just how strange it was. That Jace was insisting on being put on some sort of rounds, and it had almost destroyed him to know that it wasns't allowed. He had also been clearly confused when they had been told that they were not of age to go on rounds yet, but that Alec boy had stopped him from pursuing any further conversation.

"Someone is hunting these boys," Her husband said, his voice low and solemn. "And these boys need our help to protect them, whether they know it or want it or not. Not to mention, it is obvious enough that Jace is the primary target, and yet Alec can be just as much of a target because whoever is targeting Jace knows that if they snatch Alec, Jace will fold immediately. The two...The two are Parabatai, just like Will and Jem." A pair of gasps flooding the room had Will rolling his eyes. he had already guessed this, and he knew that Jem had as well.

"How do you know?" Gideon demanded, hands on his hips. The husband shrugged.

"I saw the rune. It's on their lower hip, typically covered by their shirts or pants, or belt. I saw it once, but that was enough of me to gather the information. Besides, Jem said that Alec had been feverishly looking for Jace when him and Will had that show down in the piano room. Alec had known something was wrong, just as Jem had. There is really only one way for that to happen."

"But parabatai are rare, and to find a match that actually sticks is even more so!" Gabriel insisted, eyes light with insolence.

"That doesn't mean that it isn't the case."

"We would have known. A successful match between Parabatai makes headlines!" He kept on his insistence and Will finally snapped.

"Look Lightwood! Someone is experimenting on these people, a Shadowhunter, what makes you think that this same Shadowhunter wouldn't just perform the ritual themselves? Sure it may be hard, but it is not impossible, and with how often the Cup changes hands, it isn't even just implossible. We don't know who is hunting them, so perhaps we should worry about that before we worry over the fact that someone managed to hide a parabatai pair from everyone. At the very least, we know that narrows down the list of suspects." Only someone relatively high ranking could hide something like that without anyone being aware, and it was a sobering thought.

The group was already having questions about the legitimacy of the Clave, and this was not helping matters in the slight.

"Okay, how about we all take a breather. We know Jace and Alec can hold their own, we know that they are parabatai, and we know someone is experimenting on Jace and that is why they knew of the Downworlder Rune, that somehow got configured so it could be placed on a Nephilim. Right now, we should pool together a list of people that could take the Angelic cup and do the ritual without being caught doing it, and that will help us narrow it down, at least a little bit." Henry's words comforted them, because now they would be doing something. Boring research, but they felt a bit vindicated that they would manage to successfully figure out what was going on. "Will, you should work on Magnus, Jem, go with him and make sure he doesn't do something stupid." Will rolled his eyes, scoffing, but held his hand out for his Parabatai. "Lucy, you take to the research, Lightwoods, you are on the newcomer duty."

"Why us?" Gideon hissed.

"Because they seem to like you the most of everyone here, so its your job."
