Trying to hunt down the two shadowhunters was no easy fete, but they managed it nonetheless. Gideon liked to think it was due to their skill, but Gabriel was fairly sure they just were not hiding. They seemed to know their way around, if nothing more. Perhaps they had been wandering the halls at night to figure out where things were? It was not something that he would have been surprised at if he was honest, and it seemed something the overly vigilent two would do. Gideon had suggested it when they decided to stay longer at the London institute, but he had vetoed it. No need to risk getting into trouble, but that did not seem to be a worry for the two Shadowhunters. Whatever they thought, it was clearly a pro and con situation. They had already figured out the two seemed to be rather pragmatic.
"You want to meet him again? Seriously Jace? You are being serious about it?" Alec groaned. Gabriel placed an arm around his brother to stop him immediately, wanting to hear what they were going to say. "I know I agreed, but...he is dangerous, Jace."
"All Fae are dangerous,"
"Him more so! You know...you know what I suspect." Even if he could not see it, gabriel could practically feel Jace's eyeroll. He seemed to take after Will, and it was something Will would eyeroll to.
"I know, and I have already told you I am not gracing you with an answer. I can't, and you know that too. Besides, Meliorn is kind to me, if nothing more."
"Maybe, but you don't know how long that will be. The Fae run on obsession, almost as badly as your father." The two heard the slam of something against the wall.
"Do not compare Meliorn to him!" The hiss was clearly Jace, who got volatile.
Jace...seemed to have a rather intensely strained relationship with their father. Perhaps...Gabriel shook his head, he did not want to even think of the possibility of a father experimenting on his kids, but it was not and would not be the first time would it? It happened in the Mundane world all of the time, surely it could happen in theirs too? It was really depressing.
"You are getting too attached, Jace, I don't know what happened between the two of you with your father's captivity, but something clearly did, and I know it did." Jace huffed, and Gabriel could practically envision the folding of his arms. Though, it was a lesser to the fact that he felt his heart stutter in his chest. Alec had just confirmed it. Jace's father had held him captive. At least that made things a bit easier, they just had to figure out who Jace's father was, and then they would know who to handle.
"It doesn't matter. I doubt he even realizes." He said softly, sadness practically dripping from his voice.
"I just worry about you. Meliron is dangerous, and I never particularly liked your or Issy handling the Fae in the first place, especially not you. They always get this starry look in their eyes, it is unnerving."
"You are being paranoid."
"Can I at least as Magnus to be there? I don't want Meliorn to be the only downworlder with us, and having Magnus would at least force Meliorn to be polite."
