A/N: Hi, I hope everyone is having a good day/night (and if you're not, I'll come to your house and force feed you cupcakes)! This oneshot was requested by Httydforever1! Don't check how long it's been since a update. At least I have a good excuse now, with school starting and all. My math teacher hates free time and assigns us homework pretty much every day. Yesterday, it took all evening, and I didn't get any device time! I'm addicted to my tablet. I hope no one looks up and sees me writing fanfic, because I just know that will be my whole reputation until I graduate. Anyway, enough rambling. This oneshot will be very fun to write, and I hope you guys enjoy it! Happy reading!
Tw: Overworking, frustration, yelling, so caps (in his head), swears (only one out loud), exhaustion, headaches, slight anger, paranoia, being sleep deprived, and fever/being sick.

Code.
Such a fickle thing.
Sometimes it easily bent to an admin's will, allowing itself to be warped and changed until whoever was arranging it was satisfied.
Other times, it resisted being altered, the lines of binary so twisted and tangled together in took hours to finish a single section, forcing admins to sacrifice sleep in extreme cases.
Right now, Doni was sitting in a special section of his lab, fatigued gaze staring directly yet unseeingly at the blurry ones and zeros making up the world.
How long had he been at it, you might ask?
Well, he didn't have an answer.
Time seemed to blend together like zebras escaping a lion between working on the code, using the bathroom, occasionally getting something to eat or drink, and those two shit naps he'd had that must have lasted only an hour each.
He was tired.
No, scratch that, he was fucking EXHAUSTED.
He hadn't had a proper meal or sleep in what must be a while, and his wings needed preened so badly that it hurt every time he moved, deep aches seeming to make up his feathers despite the limbs feeling disconnected from his body due to not moving them in so long.
But he couldn't waste the time that would take, so he kept working, struggling to tear down code where it was hopelessly scrambled and rebuilding it again from scratch. It'd take at least three hours. At least he guessed so, if his brain was still somehow functioning. He felt a bit off, and why he couldn't tell with his thoughts a jumbled mess. If he was sick, then he'd just have to wait to make soup and relax.
A virus had somehow gotten on the server. Everything seemed to be messed up at varying degrees, most of which thankfully small. It had made the Nether decide to resort to just its past hazy reds, not letting only of the newer biomes load even though the code hadn't indicated that update had hindered it. Respawn was acting up, and serious injury was possible if anyone died. He hadn't warned anyone yet, as no one had been on when it all started. He debated checking again but decided against it in favor of getting done just a few moments earlier. The only thing keeping him functioning was the coffee he was running low on and the thought of his nest, waiting for him.
A ping from his communicator startled him out of his thoughts, bringing with it a pang of dread. His friends had sent him some messages he hadn't bothered to read, but this was an alarm. Scared of what he would find, he hesitatingly opened the warning sent to him. His eyes widened.
All of the work he'd done on Respawn had been deleted.
The days he'd spent trying to fix it were gone. Just like that. He could feel the heavy ach in his head get worse and couldn't decide if the noise trying to crawl up his throat was hysterical laughter or tears.
