Dorothy's POV

We drove back home ready to face Mom. Sophie was able to convince the pharmacist she had a 'terrible stomachache' and he gave her a medicine with a prescription. I thought that would be enough to convince her. Sophie wasn't fully convinced but she thought it should be good enough.

"Hi, Mom I got the medicine," Sophie told Mom handing it over to her.

"That's good, I can see the pharmacist has already fully prescribed it for you. Let me know if you get worse so I can take you to the hospital," She replied.

We went upstairs and walked into Sophie's room.

I heard footsteps behind the door. They abruptly stopped."I'll be off to bed now if you need me," Mom's voice muffled through the door.

"Okay, goodnight," Sophie replied.

I heard the soft click of Mom's door.

"Let's look at the official police inquiry on Dad's disappearance," Sophie held out a printed police inquiry.

Mr David Gordon left his home on March 5th, 2019 at 6:53 am according to the family and evidence from security cameras outside his family's home.

He was then seen going to his place of work and he arrived at 7:05 am. He was seen by all the workers in the building and security camera footage along the streets and of his place of work.

He left his place of work at 10:43 pm. He stated he needed to leave to visit a few clients. He was later seen on Boulderville Street at 11 pm. That was the last place anyone had seen him. His family then realized he hadn't come home that day, they filed a missing person's case. It was made a low-risk case because he didn't have any disabilities, he wasn't a minor and wasn't vulnerable due to age. Most adults leave home for days and come back later. However, he didn't. The last person to see him is presumed to be his co-worker, Iris East.

On March 7th, 2019 two days after his disappearance, traces of hair were located in the trunk of his car which was found at Ashville Avenue 20 km away from where he was last seen.

After 5 years of investigating this unfortunate case, it is with heavy hearts that we declare, Mr David Gordon dead by presumption of death due to disappearance. His body has since never been found to allow family members to properly bury it.

Thank you.

"I think Mr Brian's account is conflicting with the police inquiry and he seemed reluctant to answer some of my questions," Sophie responded, "He didn't attend the memorial but Theo did he never said anything about his grandma being sick he would have told me".

"Strange," I replied.

There was a deafening silence in the room. I decided to break it as an extrovert.

"The shopping bit is a little suspicious because according to the report, he didn't leave because he needed to shop. He left work because he needed to attend to clients outside his workplace," I spoke up.

"I think we should talk to Iris East and Detective Howards since she is the supposed last person to see Dad and Howards was in charge of the investigation. We should visit them next," Sophie stated.

"First thing tomorrow morning since it is Saturday," I admitted.

We added names to the persons of interest list and information to the murder board.
