Chapter 21

Sophie's POV

There were four people who may have kidnapped my Dad.

Mr Brian, Ryan Trivillle,Alex or Tyson Howards.

Any of them could have done it but I need more information from Mr Brian.

It could be him or it could not be him.

That's why I was at Nichole's house. Nichole's sister works at Mr Brian's company.

I kept ringing the doorbell it took a long time for someone to answer.

"Oh, hi Soph. How are you? " It was Naylene.

"I've been better. Can I come in?" I responded.

"Oh sure," She fully opened the door to let me in.

"So sorry, about your Mom," Naylene said sounding remorseful.

"Thanks," I responded.

Before I had time to think Nichole pulled me into a bear hug and I hugged her back.

"Sorry about your Mom, she's so sweet. She didn't deserve it. Have you been sleeping now? " Nichole finally released me.

"It's okay but I've  been able to fall asleep for the past two days well except from yesterday. Can I talk to you Naylene and do you mind me recording?" I was being careful with this question because I didn't want her to ignore my questions.

"What type of questions," Naylene curiosity pique.

"You're doing your internship at the Brians company, right? I just wanted to ask you a few questions about it,"
I persisted.

"Is it about your Dad?" Nichole asked.

I shot Nichole a glare, "Yes", I said through gritted teeth.

"Sure," Naylene responded.

I decided to start naming the recordings so it's easy to find and listen back to.

Sophie: How long have you been working with the Brians Company?

Naylene: Since the start of this year. I have been hoping to get a permanent job.

Sophie: Interesting. And how do you find the work environment?

Naylene: Mr Brian can be pushy sometimes and a little over-demanding. Okay, I guess but the office can get dramatic sometimes.

Nichole: Dramatic?

Sophie: You just stole my question.

Naylene: Banter, rumors, gossip you know that kind of stuff.

Sophie: So what's your overall view of Mr Brian?

Naylene: Demanding and sus.

Sophie: Can you emphasize?

Naylene: [sighs] If you don't think of good enough ideas he will cut your salary from what I have heard. I just do the paperwork. He also has a lot of notes in his office. I find it strange that he sorta... I don't know how to explain.

Sophie: He comes up with his own ideas sometimes?

Naylene: When they have meetings to pitch ideas he'll let his employees say their's right?? Well he listen to them trash it and say he can come in with better and always giving the engineers new ideas to create. Even though he never takes suggestions.
