Sophie's POV
It's been two months since we found Dad and two months till he has stayed with us.
I sat next to Dad watching his favorite movie alongside Mom.
One thing still made my blood boil.
Theo didn't go to jail.
But Mr Brian did.
They said Theo was a minor but he didn't deserve to be walking around.
He deserved to be in jail.
My head injury and the symptoms that came with it were nearly gone.
I went upstairs to talk to Dorothy.
We went into my room and took a picture of the investigation board.
We placed it under my bed and hung up a new one.
We placed a new question above it
Who's been threatening Sophie and why?
"Those threats who do you think sent them? " I thought out loud and furrowed my eyebrows.
Dorothy's expression became serious, "Will find them I promise, scout's honor."
"They thought we would give up but we won't. Somehow I have a feeling that Dad's initial disappearence is linked to it" I suggested.
"We're in this together this time no going off to do things on our own," Dorothy put a hand on my shoulder.
"Let's re-examine the clues," I suggested.
"That means re-visiting the old suspects," Dorothy chimed in.
"Exactly," I replied.
One mystery has been solved but a new one has emerged.
We were going to solve it.
Dorothy and I were more resilient, more experienced and more wise.
We'll find answers no matter what.
Dorothy's POV
After a few hours of trying to get leads, we ended up hitting multiple dead ends.
We both got frustrated and agitated but we didn't give up.
We can't give up not now. Not never we have to find the truth.
We can't rest now.
Finding Dad felt good and unveiling his kidnapper Mr Brian.
We started to sift through the old threats and the new ones.
Then Sophie noticed a pattern through a crypt threat.
"If you turn the letters into numbers rearrange them turn them back to letters it reads 'You're close but so far', " Sophie explained.
"Could this be a lead?" I asked.
"Let's find out," I responded. My heart raced.
Together we dived into the new wave of uncertainty, questions and answers.
The journey ahead was uncertain and maybe even deadly.
Sophie and I would get through it together.
Then we would have to go back to school and navigate high school again, complete high school and go to university.
We would continue our quest to find out who is threatening Sophie?
