Sophie's POV

I woke up. I had a good feeling that I got a good amount of sleep. I stretched a little. I realized I actually managed to fall asleep for more than 3 hours. I picked up my phone and checked the time.

"10 flipping pm, "I yelled.

I scrambled out of bed to get ready for school as soon as possible. I was running so late.

I rushed out of my room. Oh my gosh. I left my shoes. I went back to get my shoes and scrambled out of my room, fully sure... I forgot my backpack.

This time I took everything. I was a hundred percent certain.

I'm normally a very organized  person. I never leave anything at home.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed a
breakfast bar. I scrambled into the
living room and I was completely stunned to look to find Dorothy sitting
comfortably on our L-shaped sofa with her feet put up.

"You know we're running extremely late to school, right? " I almost yelled at her.

She burst out laughing. I stared at her, confused.

"What's so funny?" I demanded wanting an answer.

"Sophie, it's Saturday; chill," she said, between laughs.

I groaned loudly and slumped down next to her.

"At least you finally got sleep, " Dorothy said when she finally caught her breath.

"I should have just slept in and relied on you, " I complained. I think I can trust Dorothy enough after our investigation began.

"I'm just happy you can get sleep again, "Dorothy said with a genuine smile.

"Meet too; I may not get my full sleep cycle back, " I responded. I am ecstatic that I was able to sleep more than 5 hours even though I wasn't showing it. For the past few days, I was only able to sleep for  3-4 hours.

"Mornin' girls, "It was Mom.

"Morning," we replied simultaneously. The fact that Dorothy and I have started to answer questions at the same time is becoming increasingly scary.

"Want breakfast? "she asked.

"Sure, " I replied.

After getting stuffed for breakfast, we went to my room to proceed with our investigation.

My phone's notification alert went off. I picked up my phone to check who texted me.

I'm not getting any sleep tonight.

I passed my phone to Dorothy.

"This is becoming concerning; let's go to the police, " Dorothy said concerned.

"No, Tyson will be like 'I told you, Sophie', 'Why didn't you stop Sophie', 'End this investigation, Sophie, "I said,
mockingly trying to do a voice impression of Tyson.

"But Soph... you know what? If you don't want to go to the police, that's fine with me, but we need to find out who's doing this, " Dorothy replied.

"I think..." I started.

My phone rang.

Could it be the person who was threatening me?
