Sophie's POV

I thought about what Dorothy said. She had a point maybe we hadn't found him yet but there was still hope for the future.

I felt guilty. Extremely guilty for abandoning the investigation. I abandoned Dad.

My thoughts were racing as I walked to Dorothy's room, I bumped into someone.

"Sorry," I scrambled to apologize.

"No, problem Hon," Mom brushed past me and went downstairs.

She would have started a conversation.

Flip. That means she knew what I was thinking about.

I knocked on Dorothy's door and she opened it up looking extremely sleepy.

"What?" She said rubbing her eyes.

"I've been thinking about what you said," I started walking into her room.

She closed the door and she looked at me.

"I think we should restart the investigation, I need to find Dad. I miss him, I do but I think I allowed someone to bully me into wanting me to stop," I explained.

Dorothy opened her arms pulled me into a hug and lightly punched me.

"Ow," I cried, exaggerating.

"You came to your senses finally. I didn't mean to hurt," Dorothy apologized.

"Don't worry I'm dramatic like you. So can I have the investigation board back?" I pleaded with her.

We carried the investigation board to my room and hung it back up.

"So what's next? I was so lost. I couldn't see any connections at all," Dorothy said vigorously pointing at the suspects.

"It's like the evidence is not pointing to one clear suspect but we can try... hmm Tyson we haven't collected much evidence on him," I said contemplating.

"Your bestie," Dorothy said smirking.

"Yeah... wait no no our suspect," I quickly responded.

"It was just a joke, Soph," Dorothy said
cackling.

Dorothy's POV

"So Soph what's the plan?" I was curious to hear what she had come up with.

"I stay here and stay guard you search his house. Don't worry I did an info check and found he has no  security whatsoever," She explained.

"Sure," I got out of the car and approached the house.

I walked to Trivillle's house and picked the lock slowly.

After shaking the pin around for five minutes. The door finally opened up

I scanned the house nothing out of the ordinary. Oh gosh, I just remembered the good stuff is either in the bedroom or the study and the attic but there isn't one.

I'm just going to search.

I opened the bedroom door and saw a huge pile of laundry that smelt awful.

Bro! Do your laundry! It's not hard.

Anyways I searched the room and brought everthing out. One by one. Bit by bit but nothing.

I checked under his mattress and even his closet but nothing and my energy was slowly fading away.

I grunted as I felt something hit me. It was a small box. I opened it up and found a few pictures of a guy who looked similar to Tyson probably his brother with what looks like his parents.

It had RIP on top of both of his supposed parent's heads.

I didn't know he lost his parents. He looked pretty young in the photo. Probably, his pre-teen or early teen.

I closed the box and placed it back on the shelf where it was before it fell off.

I walked to study hoping that I would find something.

I brought out folder after folder. Box after box but nothing useful. I could feel the frustration growing from within.

I groaned and leaned against a wall and felt something shift behind me.

Crap. I turned around and saw a painting behind me and a piece of paper dropped from it. I picked it up.

I should have checked behind the painting. The secrets are always behind them. Why didn't I think about that?

I opened the paper and saw a selfie of Tyson in the basement with boxes filled with Xz around him. It was a polaroid taken at 12:20 pm on March 5th, 2019.

So he wasn't smuggling my dad but he was smuggling drugs.

Interesting.

I started to hear the sound of a pulsating engine.

Flip. I looked out of the window and saw Trillive cruising down the road.

How am I supposed to get out?

Sophie's POV

I was leaning against my car when Tyson's car came closer and closer.

Crap.

"Sophie, what are you doing here?"  Tyson approached me.

Make an excuse. Make an excuse.

"I came to tell you that I put deep, deep consideration into what you said and I finally ended the investigation," I half lied.

I did end the investigation but I restarted the investigation.

"Oh great you listened for once in your lifetime, Sophie," Tyson chuckled.

"Haha, but at least I'm not the one who was smuggling drugs," I remarked.

Tyson's eyes widened.

"Why you thought I forgot? I keep even the smallest details," I commented.

"Are you trying to blackmail me?" I could hear the fear creeping into his voice.

I started to walk away from his house and he trailed behind me.

Good. Now Dorothy could make a quick escape. I hope.

"Listen, I'm not going to let a little girl blackmail me. I thought we had an agreement. No snitching," He commented.

I turned around and faced him. In the distance, I could see Dorothy going back into the car.

"Who said we had an agreement? Who said I can't snitch? " I smirked.

He looked at me in shock and disbelief.

I brushed past him and entered my car and sped off.

"Why what happened?" Dorothy asked.

"Tyson thinks that I won't report him for smuggling," I explained.

"Why haven't we reported him?" She questioned me.

"When we find Dad whether dead or alive. We report Tyson, Leo Tira and Iris," I explained.

" There a connection isn't there? But we don't know we just can't put our fingertips on it, "Dorothy contemplated out loud.

"I wish I could see Trillive get arrested," I stated.

Dorothy nodded in agreement," Tyson is innocent."

I stopped my car and she handed me her phone and I saw a picture of Tyson in the room filled with Xz at 12:20pm.If he was smuggling, there was no way he had my dad.

Most of our suspects are criminals. One way or another. If they weren't criminals they were liars.

But who has Dad?

We need to find him it's been too long.
