Sophie's POV

I'm done. I'm finally done.

Getting rid of it felt...refreshing. Felt like lifting this crushing weight off my shoulder.

No more threats. No more car accidents. More sleep perchance.

The next thing I had to do was to tell Dorothy.

But I'll have to do this later.

I picked up my hoodie and drove to Theo's house.

Theo opened the door, practically beaming.

"Hi," Theo said grabbing my hand and wrapping his fingers around mine.

"I'm so bored, wanna go somewhere?" I asked him, feeling relaxed for the first time in months.

"You seem so happy, what happened? Spill the tea," Theo's eyes, practically sparkling in the warm sunlight.

"I just got rid of something that was... you know attracting so many problems. It feels vindicating," My voice full of bliss.

"Good to hear, where do wanna go?" Theo raised an eyebrow at me.

"Santa Monica pier, it may be extremely crowded but it's just fun and relaxing in this sorta weird way you know," I rambled on.

"Well let's go there,Babe,"Theo said.

***

Relaxation.

For the first time in months, I felt relaxed. The heavy burdens were lifted off my shoulders.

Theo walked up to me and as he came to a stop, his ice cream plummeted into the deep blue, sea.

"For flip sake now, the only day I get to slip in a treat and it has to drop into the sea,"Theo raged.

I burst out laughing. When I finally stopped, I struggled to catch my breath.

"If it was Dorothy's ice cream to fall into the ocean, she would have thrown mine in too a immediately it fell," I said a nostalgic feeling washing over me, remembering when that  happened a few years ago.

Dad was there back then. He just bought two, new ice cream cones and told Dorothy she's a bad sport.

Dad rarely got angry.

I should just savor some of these memories.

"Sophie," Theo tapped me.

"Hmm," I snapped back to reality.

"You zoned out there for a while. Are you okay? " Theo put a concerned hand on my shoulder.

"Oh, don't worry I'm fine," I told him, giving him a reassuraing look.

For the first time in months, I meant that statement.

The only challenge I have to overcome is to tell Dorothy without getting her angry or upset.

When I wasn't paying attention Theo licked my ice cream.

"Hey," I laughed.

"Sorry," He playingly apologized.

I also forgot to do this. I pulled out my phone and texted the unknown number.
