Chapter 11

Dorothy's POV

I stared at my notebook, trying to scribble down as many notes as I could, but the teacher   was speaking too rapidly.

I raised my hand.

"Ms Gordon, what seems to be the matter?" Mr Green asked me.

"It's difficult to hear you. Could you please slow down?" I asked, I'm not ready to fail biology.

"Nonsense, I'm training you for college, so you just need to be a better listener, "Mr Green told me and continued to talk at the speed of light.

This man legit wants me to fail so that Sophie gets first place.

Sophie and I have been competing for first place in school since we were in the womb.

"We are not in college, " I muttered under my breath.

"But isn't early preparation for college a good  thing? " Bella overhead me and questioned me.

"I wasn't talking to you ;shut the frick up, " I snapped at her.

"That is no way to talk to a fellow student, "Bella smirked at me.

"I wasn't frickin talking to you, " My voice was extremely loud.

The whole class turned and stared at Bella and me .

"Ms Gordon, I know you're an honor student but that is no way to talk to a fellow student. Principal's office with your mother this afternoon ."Mr Green lashed out at me.

The whole class stared at me.

I felt the flush rise up my face. I just looked down and continued to make notes.

Sophie's POV

I was in the chemistry lab when my lab partner Roy approached me.

"Hey, Soph," he said to me.

"What the problem, Roy? " I asked.

I haven't slept a wink since Saturday, and it's affecting me.

"Chill out, Soph just wanted to show you this, " He held out a white pill with Xz written on it.

"Um, what is this?" I tried to play dumb so he didn't know I knew what Xz was.

"It's a pill called Xz banned by the government, basically illegal ;I just want you to do research on it, "he told me coldly.

"If it's an illegal drug, how did you get it exactly?" I asked curiously.

"Got it from a party, Sophia the first, I'm sure some guy sells at parties to make a quick buck, "he responded.

"Can you keep it? I'll take a look when I'm not sleep deprived, " I  handed the pill back to him. He shrugged and left me alone in the lab.

I packed my bag and was ready to leave when Dorothy bursted into the room.

"Bella got me called to the flippin principal's office and now their calling mom, " Dorothy shouted at me in. pure rage.

"Why may I ask?"I interrogated her.

She filled me in on everything that happened.

"So sorry, but I think I just answered, 'Who the criminals are selling Xz to?'" I told her enthusiastically.

"Roy gave me Xz and told me he found it at one of those parties, "I explained to tell her.

"So I bet Mark's probably selling it to high-schoolers, " Dorothy theorized.
