Sophie's POV
I felt something touch me and I jolted awake. I was drenched in sweat and I was in an unfamiliar room.
After the sleep started to wear off I noticed I was in Dorothy's room. I let out a sigh of relief. I think I managed to fall asleep. I picked up my phone to check what time it was.

"Who will pay?" I asked shaken by the threat.
I heard a soft click of the door and Dorothy strolled in.
"Good morning, I wanted to wake you up but you looked so peaceful, " Dorothy said cheerfully.
"Why are you so happy?" I asked perplexed by the current change in her mood.
"I've been blessed with the chance to have a rematch with the person from Florida I lost to a few months ago, " She plopped next to me.
"Great," My voice was trembling as I was trying to slow down my racing pulse.
Who would pay?
"What's wrong? You look shaken, " Dorothy asked concerned.
I picked up my phone and showed her the message.
"Who will pay?" Dorothy asked.
"I don't know. I don't even think I'll be able to sleep after this, " I said.
Dorothy pulled me into a warm embrace but I didn't pull away.
"It will all be okay. They can't do anything. I think we should go to the police today. Please I want you to be able to fall asleep again. I want the old you back," Dorothy pleaded with me.
"You're right. Enough is enough. We can go, " I finally gave up.
I am tired of the threats. I am tired of not sleeping at night. I am tired of thinking about all the ways I could get abducted.
Dorothy's POV
I've been staring down at my food for the past ten minutes, unable to eat. After seeing Sophie like that has made me worried.
"Dori, are you okay? You seem quiet, " Zara asked me.
"I am just worried about Sophie that's all. I don't she's okay, " I explained.
I have lots of people who are my best friends but Zara is my number 1.
"Why? What's wrong?" Zara scooted closer to me.
"She's been sleep-deprived for the last week. Only managed to fall asleep yesterday. This morning she looked like she was thinking," I confessed.
Zara was someone who listened to my problems and genuinely understood me.
"Sometimes the hardest battles we fight are inside own heads," Zara told me, "Have you told your Mom? That your sister may be struggling? "
Mom. She knew Sophie was sleep deprived but she never knew why.
We couldn't tell her about the threats. It would destroy her. Dad's issue had already ruined her.
"Yes," That my friend is called a half lie. Mom knows Sophie can't sleep she just doesn't know the reason.
"Tell Soph that I wish her all the best," Zara said.
She needs the best right now.
