"Hey? Are you okay? Wha-what’s wrong with you??" I asked, my voice trembling as I stared at him. He didn’t respond, his gaze fixed on something beyond me. My heart pounded in my chest, a growing sense of dread tightening its grip on me.
Suddenly, a sharp pain exploded in my stomach, forcing me to double over. I gasped, clutching my abdomen as I fell to the ground. The pain was unbearable, as if something was tearing me apart from the inside.
"Satang!! Winn-" I tried to scream, but my voice was barely more than a whisper. Dunk, Joong, Winny, Satang everyone else—they were all still sleeping, completely unaware of my agony.
"Go--d!" I cried out, my voice breaking as I closed my eyes in desperation. I needed help, but it was as if the world had fallen silent around me. I forced my eyes open, glancing up at Gemini. "Fuck-" I whispered, confusion lacing my voice. It was like something had taken over Gemini, something dark and malevolent.
The pain in my stomach intensified, and I could barely breathe. "Jesus Chri-s-t oh my- go," I stammered, each word a struggle as I writhed on the floor.
Where had this pain come from? Why was this happening to me? I curled up, crossing my arms over my belly, trying to shield myself from whatever was attacking me from within.
My breathing became frantic, each inhale shallow and panicked. I looked up at Gemini again, and my blood ran cold. His face—oh my God, his face—it was tearing apart, skin ripping and pulling away as if something inside him was trying to claw its way out.
"AAAaa fuckiing g.... gem! shiaa!-" I screamed, my voice raw with terror. I tried to get up, to crawl away, but the floor beneath me had turned to water, rippling and shifting beneath my hands. "God," I whimpered, tears streaming down my face as I realized I couldn’t escape.
I forced myself to focus, trying to remember anything that could help—a prayer, a chant, anything to drive away the darkness that had consumed him, Gemini—or whatever he had become—moved closer, his twisted face looming over me.
"AAAAAAHH-" I shrieked, the sound piercing the night as my fear reached its breaking point.
And then,
Suddenly,
It was over,
I jolted awake, my chest heaving as I struggled to catch my breath. My heart was racing, pounding against my ribs like it was trying to escape.
Slowly, I realized where I was. The familiar surroundings of the balcony came into focus as I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of the nightmare.
I looked around, still disoriented. Everything was normal—too normal. I was back in reality, but the terror of the dream clung to me like a shadow. I turned my head, finding Gemini still asleep, his face peaceful and untouched by the horrors that had haunted my dream.
How did I get here? I was sure I had fallen asleep on the bed—or was it the sofa? I touched my head, trying to piece together the fragments of the night. The nightmare had been so vivid, so real, that I could still feel the echo of the pain in my stomach.
Why did I have a dream like that? I’d never had nightmares before, not even after watching countless horror movies alone in the dark. But this... this was different. It wasn’t just a dream.
I rose from the sofa, my body feeling weak and unsteady. Gemini was still asleep, clutching a pillow to his chest. I approached him quietly, kneeling down to study his face.
Perfect eyes, perfect rosy lips, his hair falling just right, the flawless shape of his face. "You're perfect in every way," I whispered, the words slipping out before I even realized.
I glanced around; everyone else was still deep in sleep. My gaze returned to him, and I couldn’t help but smile. "But this bitch is a little bit rude," I whispered again, a small smile playing on my lips as I leaned closer. Our lips were only inches apart.
Suddenly, a chill crept through the air around Gemini, an icy coldness that seemed to seep into my bones. The temperature dropped so sharply it felt as though I might freeze right there.
Startled, I quickly stood up and backed away from him. As soon as I moved away, the air warmed again, returning to normal. What just happened? Something was definitely wrong here.
.....MORNING......
GEMINI
The blaring of my alarm jolted me awake. Groaning, I quickly silenced it, hoping not to disturb anyone else. A yawn escaped my lips as I glanced at the time—8:30AM. We’d stayed up late working yesterday, so school was off the table today.
With a sigh, I forced myself out of bed, frustration simmering at the thought of having to make breakfast again. My body protested every step as I dragged myself to the washroom to freshen up.
When I finally made it to the kitchen, the sound of clattering pots and pans greeted me. My eyes widened in surprise. There, standing by the stove, was my aunt, busy cooking breakfast. "What the hell?" I muttered under my breath, quickly moving towards her.
"You never make breakfast," I began, half in shock, but she cut me off,
"Ah, you're awake! Go take a shower and wake the others," she instructed, not even bothering to look at me as she continued her work. My mind raced, suspicion creeping in. *Is she trying to poison me or something?* I thought to myself as I reluctantly turned to leave. *Nah, this is too suspicious.*
Shaking off the strange feeling, I headed back to my room. There, I found Fourth curled up in bed, sleeping like a child. A smile tugged at my lips as I quietly grabbed my clothes and went to shower.
AUTHOR
Gemini stepped out of the washroom, the sound of running water still echoing in his ears. As he walked to downstairs, he could hear Fourth’s voice carrying through the air. He was talking with Winny, Satang and others, his laugh bright and infectious.
Distracted by the sound of his laughter, Gemini’s mind wandered, imagining what he might be talking about. He turned the corner without looking and walked straight into her.
It all happened in a split second. Fourth’s eyes widened in surprise as Gemini crashed into him. The force of the collision sent them both stumbling backward. Gemini's foot slipped, and before he knew it, they were falling. He instinctively reached out to grab Fourth, trying to steady them both, but gravity had other plans.
They hit the floor with a soft thud, Gemini landing on top of him. His heart pounded in his chest as he realized how close their faces were, just inches apart. The scent of his perfume filled Gemini senses, and for a moment, everything else disappeared.
Fourth's eyes locked onto his, his lips parted in surprise. Without thinking, Gemini's gaze dropped to Fourth's lips, and in that instant, he couldn’t stop himself. He leaned in, closing the distance between them, and their lips met in a sudden, breathless kiss.
Time seemed to stand still. The world around them faded into a blur, leaving just the warmth of his lips against Gemini and the wild beating of his heart. When they finally pulled apart, Gemini’s mind was spinning, his breath shallow as he looked into Fourth's wide, startled eyes.
