"Fourth, we should go back," Satang said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

I frowned, confused.

"This jungle is in Chiang Mai, bruh" Dunk added, his tone serious.

Shit. I face-palmed myself, the sudden realization hitting me like a wave.

"I didn't researc-" I began.

"Fourth, I'm taking you home, then I'll drop Satang. Okay? In one hour, you should be ready. I'll change and go buy tickets," Dunk said firmly, starting the engine.

"In one hour? But-"

"Fourth, try to understand!" Dunk's voice rose slightly, his eyes briefly meeting mine through the rearview mirror. "Something will happen in two weeks! We need to know about his past-how to get rid of it, how to stop it. We have to take him there bla bla! There are so many things we need to figure out."

"Okay... but how are you going to manage tickets in-"

"Leave it on me," Dunk cut me off sharply, as if there was no room for argument.

______

Dunk dropped me at my house without saying another word. The tension sat heavy in the car, and I didn't push further.

The moment I stepped inside, I bolted upstairs, tossing my bag on the bed, I grabbed all my books from the bag and shoved them into the corner of the table. My mind was spinning-packing felt like a blur. I pulled out a shirt and a pair of pants, tossing them on the bed. I changed quickly, not even checking if my collar was straight.

I scanned my room. What else do I need? I took my phone charger, a notebook, and a few other important things I might need.

Then I rushed to the kitchen and stuffed some snacks into a small pouch.

Halfway up the stairs again, it hit me.

Gemini. His belongings.

A cold shiver ran down my spine. We might need something of his-something personal. Something to trace his past.

I glanced at the clock. Thirty minutes left.

"Damn it," I muttered, quickly locking my main door.

Then I ran.

______

The air burned in my lungs as I sprinted down the street toward Gemini's house. Every step echoed in my ears like a ticking clock.

When I reached his door, I doubled over, trying to catch my breath. "Jesus," I exhaled, pressing a hand against my chest.

I reached for the doorknob, expecting it to be locked.

It wasn't.

A strange chill ran down my spine. I hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door open.

I didn't waste time. My legs carried me straight to his room. His scent lingered faintly on the air-soap and something warm, familiar.

I opened the closet and spotted one of his shirts neatly folded. Without thinking twice, I grabbed it and shoved it into my bag. My heart was pounding, not just from the run but from a strange sense that I shouldn't be here.
