I opened my eyes with a gasp, my breath coming fast and heavy, as if my lungs had just remembered how to work. My chest heaved violently. It felt like I’d been underwater for hours.
Dunk caught me before I could fall.
A few minutes passed before my heartbeat settled, before I could speak without shaking.
“Master,” I said, finally steady, “how can we stop this?”
“Before he turns twenty,” Master replied gravely, “you must take him to the place where his ancestors once performed their rituals. But understand—this isn’t a normal possession. The spirits within him are lucifer's follower. This exorcism is beyond my abilities.”
He reached into his robe and handed me his phone. “I will try to help you as much as I can. Here’s my number.”
I quickly copied it. “Thank you… thank you so much, Master.” I stood up and bowed deeply.
I picked up Gemini’s shirt from the floor, “Excuse us.”
We left the house.
As we got into the car, I checked my phone. 4:30 PM. I sat beside Satang while Dunk took the passenger seat beside the driver. The car started. I leaned my head on Satang’s shoulder, my thoughts a storm of pain.
“Fourth?” Satang gently touched my cheek. His fingers came back wet. He didn’t ask anything else. He simply pulled out a tissue and began wiping my tears. Silently. He understood everything without a word.
What would have happened if I never loved him?
Moments later, my thoughts spiraled until suddenly I snapped upright.
“Uncle—stop the car!”
The car came to a halt.
“What now?” Dunk asked, puzzled.
“Take me to Central Heart Foundation Hospital,” I said firmly.
Driver made a sharp U-turn without question.
“Why?” Satang asked. Dunk turned to look at me from the front seat.
“I met Prim in the spirits’ world. She told me… she wants to see me. One last time. In real life.”
No one spoke after that. Dunk turned his gaze forward. Satang looked out the window. The silence was heavy—trauma always lingered in the air whenever Gemini’s past came up.
When we arrived at the hospital, my eyes found the large sign: Building C.
Dunk and Satang followed close behind as I ran toward the entrance. We took the elevator, and I pressed the button for the seventh floor.
As soon as the doors opened, I rushed to the counter. “Hello,” I said breathlessly.
“How can I help you, sir?” the nurse asked politely.
“Where is room number 108?”
She paused. “Sir… the coma ward?”
“Yes,” I nodded.
She led us silently down a hallway. After a few minutes, we arrived. I saw her through the glass.
Prim.
Her mother was inside the room. She looked at us, surprised. “Who are you?”
“I’m… her friend,” I lied gently. “She visits me in dreams every night. She said she wants to meet me. That’s why I came.”
Her mother stared at me for a long second, then slowly nodded.
“Don’t,” I told Dunk and Satang, who had taken a step forward. They stayed behind. I walked in and locked the door behind me.
