Chapter 101: Spark

As you fought, your body felt more numb, eyelids getting heavier by the second.
The pain faded away, it wasn't adrenaline. Your body was giving up, after weeks of nonstop fighting and badly treated wounds.

Everyone fought back to you, their once shiny eyes all pink and misty.
The scene pained you.

The thought that came to your mind right now was..
.
.

'Why can't I always protect my loved ones?'

Always...
Now you were doubting yourself.
Especially Bakugo....him trying to fight off the quirk, struggling behind, made your heart ache.

Hawks, without wings, tried to fight- to protect you, but of course it was no use.

'Fuck this shit, I'm giving up.'
You had no energy left in your body, your sight getting blurry, eyelids becoming more heavier.

You fell down on your back with a thud, unable to stand back up.
The others ran to you, about to end it.

"Y/n!"
Hawks shouted.
He was also injured, but he ran to you, ignoring the pain growing.

But even though you tried, how hard you squeezed your energy; the small bit left in your body, you just couldn't stand up.

'Fuck it. I'm giving up. Maybe I'll be normal in my next life.'
You slumped down on the ground, the calls of your name from Hawks fading.
Your sight was blurring more each second, the adrenaline also faded away, pain in your body growing.

But right before your eyes closed, you could swear that you saw a bright spark...from close.

A familiar spark.

The same warm light you had seen when you were close to giving up before, when you were drowning.

You felt warm hands under your knees and back, someone holding you up, close, as a familiar warmth spread in your body.

"Y/n...."
The gruff but at the same time, soft voice called your name.
Your eyes opened a little, your eyesight was blurry but you could tell who it was.

"Katsuki...?"

"Yeah. It's me."
You felt small droplets of water falling down on your cheeks.

"Are you...crying?"
You asked, your voice quiet.

"I'm- I'm not."
Bakugo replied with a low tone, as if he was trying to hide the fact that he was actually crying.

"That Bastard's quirk weakened for a second, De-I mean Izuku took care of her and her goddam sister now. They're caught."
Bakugo said, his voice reassuring.

You glanced to where the two villain siblings- Succubus and Clarie were. They were down on the ground, Clarie unconscious, Succubus close to passing out.

"Midoriya....he and the others.. are they okay?"
You asked helplessly.

"They're fine. You're not one to take care of others right now, just...stay awake, alright?"
Bakugo's voice cracked a little, as he caressed your cheeks with his thumb.

"Y/n L/n."
You heard Succubus's voice.

"Just be sure...we will kill you after today. You're no use now."
She said.
"But....I didn't know that there were still people who cared in their worst states. I'm a villain from heartbreak, y'know."
As soon as Succubus stopped talking, some sort of black water came out of her and Clarie's mouth, the transportation quirk All For One had used before.

Before the others could catch them, they disappeared.

"Nobody fucking asked..."
You mumbled, you were too tired now.
But something caught your mind....a glimpse.
"Where's Siji..?"

"He's there. He spent weeks searching for you."
Bakugo answered, his grip on you soft but tight, scared to let go.

"That dumbass..."
You mumbled.

Siji was unconscious from the fighting and the piled exhaustion from the past weeks.
He had wanted to rescue you, with his hands, since he was the one who let go- couldn't save you from the villains when you had gotten kidnapped.

He swore that he wouldn't let go of your hand again, but he failed....again.
Bakugo had took his role of rescuing you first.

"Let's go back."
Bakugo's voice was quiet, but firm.
The others soon caught up to you both, some crying that you were back, some saying caring words to you.

Bakugo carried you to the medical center, quietly.

You had gotten your wounds treated, you fell asleep as soon as the treating ended.
The piled exhaustion had finally hit you, days passed as you just kept sleeping.

The doctor first thought that you were in a coma for how long you have been sleeping.

A few days, you woke up.

You blinked a couple of times, waking up completely. You never thought that being in the hospital would be actually comfortable.

A weight was felt on your legs, and you saw Bakugo asleep, his head laying down on your legs, he was sitting on the ground next to your hospital bed.

There were bouquets of flowers near.
Of course Bakugo brought them.
He was the one who was most deep in despair when you had 'died'.

You caressed his cheeks for a while, quietly.
Tears welled up in your eyes, the sight of Bakugo in front of you was comforting, but sad at the same time.

"It's been weeks since I've seen you..."
You whispered.

Bakugo opened his eyes, as he woke up.
His eyes widened as soon as he saw that you were awake, as he quickly cupped your cheeks.
"You're awake."
He let out a shaking breath.
"I mean- the doctor said that you were just sleeping, but still... I- I missed you. So..so goddamn much."
Bakugo looked as if he was about to cry, you never saw him so vulnerable, not as much as this.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? I know you're hurt- fuck, does it still hurt? How about the tiredness? Feeling okay?"
Bakugo rushed, he was panicking a bit.

"I missed you too."
You said.

Those simple words calmed Bakugo down, as he sighed. He then suddenly leaned closer, kissing you softly.
He was gentle, as if he was scared that he might hurt you.

That small action though, made your heart flutter, as a warm smile spread across your lips.

Bakugo couldn't help but smile back at you, as he held you close in a tight embrace.
"I missed you so...so much. I don't know what I would do without you."
His voice cracked, his tough persona nowhere to be seen.

"I won't go anywhere....not again."
You hugged him back, as tears fell from your eyes, but your mouth held a soft smile.

Bakugo's eyes welled up with tears also, as he smiled softly.

It was a moment you both would never forget, a different- warm spark building up between you two.
