their friendship was more than good, it was great, until one day he decided to go completely cold. no reason was given.
the lack of explanation as to why he purposely stopped talking to her and gave her the cold shoulder infuriated her.
but beneat...
Hector was lying on my bed, dried off yet the towel still around his hips. We were chatting nonsense as I was applying my makeup at the little vanity. From the corner of my eye, I saw Hector make his way over to my wardrobe and start to sift through the hangers.
"This one," he said, taking a dress with him and laying it down on the bed, "Please, wear this one," he looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I would have worn it the second he asked me, if it made him happy.
I glanced behind me to see which one he picked out. Nodding approvingly, I said, "Of course." He smiled and came up to wrap his arms around me, kissing me on the top of my head.
"I'm going to go get ready myself," he said, picking up his discarded clothes from my hotel room floor and putting them on, just to be able to walk the few steps down to his own room.
He came up to me and kissed me on the cheek, "I'll meet you downstairs in the lobby, okay?" he asked.
"Mhm," I hummed and turned my head to peck him on the lips. I withdrew and pecked him again, and again, and again.
"I'll see you in a minute," he said and walked out.
It took me a few more minutes to finish getting dolled up. I grabbed my red bag with my belongings and headed downstairs. Already waiting in the entrance to the hotel was Hector, Pau and Lamine.
"Took your time," Pau complained at me, clearly devastated by my being late by 10 minutes. When he tried to walk straight towards the door, Hector had to hold onto him so he wouldn't fall over. A wasted Pau was always great fun. Albeit complaining towards me, but fun with his friends.
Lamine was suspiciously quite, his nose stuck in his phone. I think I'd rather have an overly loud Lamine than an eerily silent one. Anyways. No time to dwell. The club awaited my presence.
We headed to the waiting taxi, when Hector called out my name, "Adella," his tone was empty. I hummed under my breath and looked up at him, to see him taking a photo of me.
"Any need for that, Hector?" I questioned him.
He thought intently, "Yes, actually."
We climbed into the taxi. Pau sat in the front, cheerfully talking with the driver, whilst in the back, Lamine sat in the middle, separating me and Hector.
Pau blabbed on, whilst the back was filled with silence. Me and Hector couldn't exactly continue our conversations from earlier and Lamine was still intent on keeping his face glued to his phone. Curiosity overtook my senses and I peeked to see what Lamine was doing on that goddamn phone.
"Lamine... what the fuck are you watching so closely?" I drew in closer to have a look.
He remained silent, showing me the screen. "Neymar Prime in Barcelona is Unforgettable | Best Skills & Goals HD" | 264k views | 3 weeks ago
Wow, ok, lil bro was watching his idolo. You know what, fair enough. Normal drunk Lamine Yamal activities: watching a compilation of Neymar's best skills and goals on Youtube.
"Wow, Lamine. That's dedication," I said. The three of us in the back continued watching the whole youtube video in silence, in respect for the prince who never became king.
"Ok," Lamine said, once the video was over, "Now time for some instagram reels." He switched apps and was about to click on the first reel, but someone's story caught his eye.
He clicked on it.
