Love is not enough

That is not an excuse

Adele's Pov:

As soon as I got back to my room I headed for the small bathroom.

I took an oil, put it on my hands and started to rub it on my belly.

It is one of the most relaxing moments of the day also because every time I do it, the baby kicks.

And now she is no less, I can see her little foot from outside my belly.

"Mummy's love, hello" I giggled "you are very lively tonight, aren't you?. You're going to be the most loved baby in the world, and along with your big brother, you're going to be my greatest joy, my little baby girl. My little Melody Parker. Mummy loves you so much, you're my life, little Melody."

"And Daddy's too" Simon walked into the bathroom and kissed my belly.

I smiled widely at his gesture.

I put my hands on his shoulders and kissed him, he responded to the kiss at a brisk pace.

"Shall we go to bed, love? It's been a long time," I looked at him with puppy eyes and a pouted lip

"I'm not sure love. I'm scared, maybe it's better to wait until the baby is born, okay?" He said putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"But Simon, that's three long months away!" I raised my voice, "why don't you want to? Why are you always against every request I make of you? I just ask you to spend some time with me, to love me and you say no? What's wrong with you?" I began to cry.

"Adele, you know I would love you day and night if it were possible. But I am afraid of hurting our little girl, please understand me."

"I try but sometimes I just can't. My husband refuses to make love to me, nice, isn't it? We're married Simon, we're fucking married! Is it because I'm not attractive when I'm pregnant? Is that it?" I asked full of anger and pain.

"You know very well it's not like that" he looked down at the floor and didn't add anything else.

Neither did I, I walked out of the room and slammed the door, headed to the kitchen and called Victoria crying.

"Vic" I sobbed "can you come over to my house p-please?

"My darling, are you all right? Did something happen to my grandchildren? You and Simon?"

"We're all fine, it's just that I had a fight with Simon."

"I'll be right there, give me a few minutes" and hung up.

A few minutes actually passed before Victoria walked through the front door without even ringing the doorbell.

"My love," she hugged me as I cried on the sofa.

"What happened?" She asked holding my face in her hands.

"It's just that- it's very stupid, but S-simon doesn't want to make love to m-me" I said with difficulty because of the sobs.

"Honey, it's not stupid what you're telling me, not at all" he said "can I ask you something?"

I nodded.

"How long has it been since you and Simon had sex?"

"Since we found out about the baby" I said a little embarrassed.

"Adele! But that was six months ago!"

"Why do you think I'm desperate Vic? I've been trying to touch my husband for six months but he refuses me. It's hard sometimes to feel sexy with this baby bump. And honestly my husband isn't helping right now," I said wiping away my tears, which were falling profusely anyway.
