 Jennifer's connection to the Koles stood marred by controversy. But, since she never believed their cult's folklore, myths, or legends, she enjoyed amnesty. Because of this, Jennifer felt vilified when entering the Birdsong restaurant. The setting appeared normal. Though, one individual--a lone woman--appeared particularly out of place.

Even so, Jennifer eased into a seat, allowing such disparities to fade. The testimonies about Katherne's final night were still missing. However, Jennifer often recalled the similarities between the Kole and Morgan ancestries. After dinner, Jennifer gathered personal items and made arrangements for the night. However, as she did so, an inescapable fear arose when the lone woman now stood before her, staring.

"Samantha..." she whispered.

Sam was cold and emotionless, bearing no resemblance to the person Jennifer once knew. Yet true to form, Sam's stride remained steady as she departed. Such aloof candidness was a symptom of the ascension. Thus, it'd become clear she was changing and apathy was devouring Sam's soul.

Later that night, Jennifer contemplated how neither Sam nor Sabrina could escape fate. All the same, Sam's arrival changed everything, though her rejection left Jennifer shattered. Even still, reuniting Sam with Sabrina might provide answers. Yet, it'd be a union shadowed by the ghosts of Harold and Katherine.

Jennifer stepped onto the patio, aching to forget everything. Plus, she yearned to feel normal again and considered anything that offered peace. Standing there, she stared into the darkened sky, pondering possible solutions. She'd been caring and merciful from the start, but prayed for absolution. All the while, knowing she too harbored secrets and concealed identities.
