Marc and Michelle traveled home together amid an evident uneasiness. (A variance he was determined to admonish).
"I sense the struggle." he stated.
"Am I that obvious?"
Michelle had been reticent of others throughout life while Marc was more flamboyant. But even like this, they were together and determined to stand united.
"I'm sorry things are difficult." he declared while taking a hand.
She expectedly displayed a sarcastic expression.
"It's not your fault, but everything will work out."
He agreed.
"Then you know about Harold?"
"And Samantha."
"I see..." her brother replied. "She visited the church, but has since disappeared, so Paul's determined to find her."
"What does he want?"
He stared.
"The secrets of the elders' power and strength."
Michelle looked shocked.
"That explains his animosity after we bonded with Sabrina..." she retorted. "However, due to that ritual the coven is strengthening."
Marc nodded.
"That's why Raina's plan won't work..." he confirmed. "She too stands blood-bonded and sworn to serve."
"You want the same gift."
"Yes..." he confessed. "If not from the elders, then another."
Michelle grew afraid.
"Impossible...!" she exclaimed. "Katherine's been gone for almost twenty years and even if she returned she'd never concede."
Marc smirked.
"Maybe not, but she's not the only elder."
Michelle instantly sat up but remained curious. After all, she'd taken a vow of loyalty and wouldn't betray the coven. Even still, she heeded Marc's admissions, but without a willingness to stand by his side Michelle felt uncertain. Above and beyond, Saint Anthony's was an extensive order sworn to fidelity.
(Another ongoing challenge that confronts Marc and Michelle's kinship). Not only that, as members of the same chapter his ambition left Michelle to question her brother's sanity.
Nevertheless, uncovering Sabrina and Samantha's kinship paled in comparison, because if Harold Morgan was alive Michelle and the sisters now embodied the origins of an unforgiving curse.
