Pursuing Sabrina suddenly became possible though acquiring the needed warrants would prove challenging. However, with the American Embassy's cooperation the investigation could proceed regardless of international law. Meanwhile, Daniel and Sean had settled in a remote location: the Clover Cliff Bed and Breakfast in Cottonwood Falls.

"We need that order." Daniel explained while closing the door.

"Schultz and Landry will have the paperwork..." Thomas stated. "In the meantime, what about the message from Mr. Dyson?"

Stern slipped into a nearby chair.

"That's something I haven't figured out."

Thomas leaned forward.

"What do you mean?"

Daniel reviewed several documents.

"Why'd he contact me after so long...?" he contested. "Plus, judging by his tone he seemed eager to talk."

Thomas sneered.

"He's protecting Sabrina and gathering intelligence."

Stern arose and contemplated.

"Funny thing."

Thomas squinted.

"I'm listening."

"He wouldn't talk before..." he continued. "So, what's the motive for coming forward?"

Sean seized a folder and glanced over its contents.

"Doesn't matter..." he proclaimed. "He could be more involved than we thought."

Stern clutched a satchel and organized materials.

"They belong to the same synagogue."

"Correlation?" he inquired.

"I don't know, but I hope he has answers."

"I suspect it's all a ploy..." Sean stated. "But with everything he has a right to be fearful."

Daniel felt optimistic since the start, yet Thomas seemed discouraged amid Stern's consistent parading.

"What's going on?" Sean solicited as Daniel parted the drapes.

"He's right on time." he announced before nearing the door.

Sean arose.

"Whom are we expecting?"

"None other than Marc Dyson..." He validated while opening the door. "He knows everyone involved and requested this meeting."

Sean was shocked.

"Hoping he'll talk?"

Daniel shrugged.

"We're about to find out."

Marc immediately regarded Sergeant Thomas upon entering.

"Who's he?"

Stern smirked.

"My partner..." he advised. "And liaison in this investigation; is there a problem?"

Marc settled following an exchange of silent glares.

"No, no problem."

"What can you tell us?" Stern inquired.

Marc cleared his throat.

"I am certain Sabrina was involved in Trina and Jasmine's murders."

"Because?" Thomas inquired.

"They opposed witchcraft on campus and she took exception."

Stern looked confused.

"Are you saying that she killed them...?" he probed. "A bit extreme for a difference of opinion don't you think?"

"Not when the future of a species is at risk." Marc replied.

Daniel gazed.

"How'd you learn about a homicide that happened overseas?"

Marc grinned.

"I know people..." he answered. "Let's leave it at that."

Daniel gazed at Sean and recalled the endless days of interrogations. But, notwithstanding the varying alibis one distinction stood out: each student knew at least one cult member. Yet, given this circumstance could such an affiliation have resulted in murder?

"Mr. Dyson, what are we dealing with?" Thomas requested.

Marc perched forth.

"A lineage of authority that's existed for over a thousand years."

Thomas snickered.

"Let me guess, a cult rising sprinkled with a touch of the supernatural, this ought to be good."

Marc scowled.

"It's good you have a sense of humor, you'll need it."

Daniel arose and pondered.

"What is it?" Thomas quizzed.

"It's the same thing Luen said about the Solomon girl..." Stern recalled while staring at Marc. "What the hell's going on? First, the mysterious deaths of two coeds then the repeated implications of dark sect leaders."

Marc smiled.

"In that case, you know about Karen's affiliation with the Lady of Victories?"

Stern snapped around.

"Yes, but what's the connection to Sabrina?"

Marc arose.

"Rival temples..." he revealed. "But, unlike Karen, Sabrina's a second-generation elder of Saint Anthony's."

"And the daughter of Harold and Katherine Morgan." Daniel interjected.

Marc nodded.

"Yes."

"I've read about her..." Thomas specified. "She allegedly murdered her husband and vanished with two children."

"Sabrina has a sibling?" Daniel questioned.

Marc smirked.

"An elder sister by seven years, Samantha."

"Where can we find her?" Daniel inquired.

Marc chuckled.

"You won't have to look far."

"Meaning?" Thomas whispered.

"When you threaten Sabrina, she'll find you."
