-Miss, are you all right? Miss?
It took Jisoo a moment to realize that the question was addressed to her. She stood like a statue in the middle of the cafeteria. The cops had long since pushed Jennie into the car and driven her away, but Jisoo could still see the stare of those eyes burning through her. The brunette knew from the start that this was a terrible idea, that Jennie would be furious, but she couldn't imagine the devastating effect it would have on the brown-haired girl.
Coming out of the daze, the girl took an unsteady step towards the exit, not noticing the waiter's questions and the concerned looks of other customers. It was only when she was outside and taking her phone out of her pocket that she realized that she was shaking so hard that her fingers couldn't hit the right buttons on the phone. God, at this rate she would burn out all her nerve cells.
-Ella...- Having managed to press the call to the right caller, Jisoo exhaled convulsively, barely answered at the other end.- They took her away.
-Calm down.- Almost ordered the woman in an even voice.- We've all decided, that's the way it has to be....
"That's the way it has to be," the phrase that started it all. The phrase that would make Jisoo shudder from now on.
Returning home, all she could do was run the last few days through her head, wanting to make sure she hadn't listened to Ella for nothing.

-I know one way to keep her from killing for sure.- Jisoo said, fidgeting with her phone.- It's a terrible way, really. And she's not going to like it...
-Let's get to the point.- Ella asked impatiently, rising from the table and looking for something to use instead of an ashtray.
-I'm going to call her and ask her to meet with me, and then try to convince...
-Don't be an idiot.- Looking at the girl like a naive child, Ella sighed, flicking the ashes into the sink.
-She loves me, and she'll listen to me.- Kim said stubbornly as her heart beat a frantic, anxious rhythm in her chest. It was no longer a game, and if Jennie tried to kill Heechul, she'd either end up dead or in jail. It wouldn't end well either way. Even if the girl gets away with it, how will she live her life afterward? How's Jisoo gonna live with her?
It was stupid and selfish, but mentally the brunette tried to think if she could continue to love a cold-blooded killer. Sure, Jennie wasn't innocent, but at least she'd never killed before ... at least not intentionally. But it was one thing to hit someone in the heat of a fight, but it was another to kill in cold blood, going about it purposefully.
Jisoo was so desperate to thwart any of her girlfriend's plans because she wasn't sure if her feelings would still be the same if Jennie did something so horrible. Jisoo had been brought up on the idea of saving lives, after all, and now what? Surely she should have thought about this much earlier. It's weird to spend so much time with someone who's basically practically a criminal and then suddenly think, "Oh, my God, she could do something terrible." But love is a strange thing, the heart is a blind organ that often wins the battle against reason.
-It's not about love right now. Drink up, you're shaking.- Ella, pulling the girl out of her inner turmoil, spoke, taking a glass of water and putting it in front of her.- I'm not sure Jennie's fully aware of what she's doing right now.- After a moment's hesitation, thinking about what to say to the brunette and what not to say, Ella continued, impulsively tossing the cigarette butt into the sink.- I fucked up a lot... I was nervous about Rose and a lot of shit happened lately. It's all empty excuses, I know. The point is, I snapped at Jennie, poured too much information on her that should have been presented differently than I did. Her friend's death must have knocked her off her game.
