"Come on man! We gotta get on the road we're already an hour behind schedule." Andre yells down the hall.
I grab my backpack and pick up Daisy's tank as I walk out to the living room.
I can't believe we're actually moving again. It's like déjà vu only this time I want to go.
I think if I was stuck living here with just mom and Myles for the rest of my life I would kill myself. No offence to my parents but there hardly fun to hang around with twenty four seven. I did my time during high school and thought I would be stuck here forever. When Andre and Mike came up with a way out I jumped in with both feet.
Can you blame me?
What twenty one year old wants to be stuck living with their parents forever. I wasn't about to give up a chance at actually living with the man I've been with since I was sixteen.
Its about time.
Even if my brother has to live upstairs, I don't care.
I'll buy him some headphones, he's going to need them.
I put Daisy's tank on the floor in the back seat of Mike's SUV then threw in my backpack before turning back to say goodbye to mom and Myles.
Mom grabbed me in a bear hug that could have broke my ribs if she wasn't the size of most teenage girls.
"Call me as soon as you get there. I want to know you made it there in one piece." she says after attempting to squeeze the life out of me.
"I will. Don't worry, you've reminded me enough times I won't forget. It's been engraved." I joke pointing to my forehead. She laughs but still looks like she's about to burst into tears at any moment. She grabs Andre and squeezes him just as hard as she squeezed me then Myles comes over and hugs me while patting my back.
"You two make sure you eat real food, not just pizza every night." he chuckles and I smile.
"I can cook you know." I laugh and he nods smiling.
"I know but I was young once too." He winks and pats my shoulder.
Mom hugs Mike hard enough to make him look like his eyes are going to pop out of his head.
"You take care of him now." she mutters as she backs away.
"Oh don't worry, I will." he assures her and shakes Myles's hand before we head to his vehicle and Andre gets into his.
After we finally manage to get away from them and get on the road its already noon. We grab food on our way out and eat while we leave the city.
