Tuesday morning goes by the same as usual. Me and Neil get the truck unloaded before lunch but by the afternoon my day does a flip. One of the store front workers had to go home sick so Eddie made me take his place.
I help a few customers before some guy comes in and starts asking me about different edibles.
He talks fast and I don't even have time to register what he's saying before my eyes fix on the stand behind him and it goes black.

"Hello? You okay there buddy?" the guy standing in front of me asks waving a hand in front of my face.
I blink a few times to clear my vision then look back up at him.
"Yeah, sorry. What were you saying?" I ask trying to remember what he was talking about before I blacked out.
"Never mind, I want whatever your on." he laughs and looks at me wide eyed.
Uh, I highly doubt that sir.
I stare at him for a second then reach behind the counter and grab a pack of the strongest edibles we sell and hand them to him.
He winks and thanks me before grabbing a few more items, checking out and leaving.
I glance over and see Eddie staring at me from down the counter. He's got a stupid grin on his face and I can tell he's laughing.
Fucker.
I guess this is the one place I can kind of blend in without being noticed.
If I slur my words, stumble when I walk or space out, everyone just assumes I'm loaded.
I hope Eddie doesn't see this as a way to up his sales and stick me out front more often.
Its one thing to have an absence seizure in front of a store full of people. It's another to drop on the floor and start shaking.
They would probably think I was overdosing.
Can you even overdose on weed?
I doubt it or Eddie would be dead by now.
After work I grab my stuff and Eddie locks up before we walk out to the car. The green and red of the street lights starts to run out of the lamps on the poles in front of us and I stop dead in my tracks.
"Hey, you coming?" Eddie calls back to me but I cant move. The colors taking over and surrounding me like a rainbow blanket of lights making everything feel amazing.
I'm semi aware of Eddie's arm around my waste pulling me against him as he walks slowly beside me. My feet don't seem to know what to do and he ends up half dragging half carrying me to what I assume is the car, right now it looks like he's taking me into a swirling vortex of rainbow lights.
The colors are slowly starting to fade as Eddie lowers me down.
"Come on Ty, look at me. Fuck, don't spread." I can hear him mutter as my vision starts to come back and he pulls the seatbelt across my chest.
"I'm okay." I try to mutter but it comes out a garbled mess.
Eddie frowns at me then pats me on the shoulder.
"Lets get you home." he says before closing the door and coming around to get in the drivers side.
When he pulls up to the house he gets out and walks me inside. As soon as we get through the door I see Mike jump up and rush over, probably wondering why I'm leaning on Eddie.
"Hey what happened? Are you okay?" he asks grabbing my cheek and looking around for any signs of damage.
"I'm fine." I insist taking his hand.
"He just had a partial seizure on the way to the car, he's still like Bambi on his new legs." Eddie chuckles and nods to Mike.
"Okay, come sit down." he insists pulling out a chair and pushing me towards it.
"I'm fine, really. Sometimes my legs just take a minute to get their shit together again." I argue but he pulls me down and makes me sit.
"Rough day?" he asks still frowning.
He worries way too much.
"Not at all, even though he made me work up front. It wasn't bad." I tell him and he looks up at Eddie.
"He only had the one on the way to the car, other than a few times he spaced out but they weren't bad." Eddie shrugs telling him what he really wants to know.
"Do you want to go lay down for a bit?" Mike asks but I shake my head and get to my feet.
"No I'm fine, you guys worry way too much." I chuckle and go to the kitchen to start cooking.
"Alright, just wanted to make sure you got up the stairs. I'll see you in the morning." Eddie nods as he leaves.
Mike comes to help me cook, not that he's much help but I know he's really just making sure I don't drop.
I think my brain's done enough for one day.
I should be good till tomorrow at least.
We get most of supper made and I start putting stuff on plates as I notice the sound of the spoon hitting the bowl is gone. I tap it a couple more times to be sure but hear nothing.
Shit.
My eyes start to blur and I turn around but my legs are already shaking.
"Mike..." I barely get out, my voice low and shaky as I try to sit down knowing I'm not going to get very far before it goes dark.

I open my eyes to white.
A whole lot of white.
The floor is white, the walls are white, even the blurry figure in front of me has white hair. At least I think that's hair, hell I don't even know if that's a person.
I try to rub the haze out of my eyes but it just makes the strange things I see even more blurry.
The weirdly wavy figure reaches out what I assume is an arm but looks like a weird worm that's twisting in strange ways no arm should bend.
I feel like I'm in an episode of stranger things.
Did I fall asleep watching T.V. again?
Is this a dream?
I cover my head and try to block out the weird noises and distorted images until my senses come back to normal.
If the partial seizures feel like a good acid trip this is the bad one.
I try to tell myself it will all go back to normal soon but every time I open my eyes I still see the weird twisted person. I shake in fear I cant seem to talk myself down from and feel like I'm going to burst into tears at any moment.
Then Mikes voice registers before my vision finally goes back to normal.
"Ty, it's over. Your okay now." he says calmly and I slowly let myself uncurl trying to look at him. The messed up images starts to come together and I can make out his face.
"Come on, lets get you off the floor." he insists holding out his hand. I take it and he slowly pulls me up till I'm leaning against him. When the room stops spinning I try to stand up and he keeps me on my feet as we walk to the bedroom.
"You're going to have to talk to the doctor about this Ty. Your not getting as much of a warning as you used to. I'm scared your going to start dropping like before." Mike says frowning as he sits me on the bed.
"I know, I'll mention it next time I see him." I tell him not wanting to argue right now.
I just want to lay down and sleep.
He tucks me in and I'm out before I even realize he left the room.
