The Kim family gathered in the grand living room, where the sunlight filtered through the intricately carved windows, casting warm patterns across the marble floor. The air was thick with tension as Kamlesh and his wife Jigna sat across from Mr. and Mrs. Kim.

Kamlesh leaned forward, his voice filled with determination.

Kamlesh- Bhai-sa, Bhabhi-sa, Jigna and I have made a decision. Sumi's marriage to Mr Park's son will take place on the same day as Tae’s wedding.

Mrs. Kim’s eyes widened in surprise, and she exchanged a quick glance with her husband who was equally concerned.

Mr Kim- Kamlesh, that is a hasty decision. Sumi is still so young... Do you really think it’s wise to marry her off so soon?

Kamlesh’s face hardened as he responded,

Kamlesh- Bhai-sa, this is not about haste. This is about opportunity. The Park family has already agreed to marry Bogum-sa to Sumi. We can’t afford to delay this any longer. You know as well as I do that delaying a marriage in our society only invites more problems.

Jigna, sitting quietly beside her husband, nodded in agreement.

Jigna- Bhabhi-sa, we know Sumi is young, but girls are married at her age all the time. This is how it’s always been. And now that Tae’s marriage is also arranged, it is the perfect time for Sumi’s wedding as well. The Park family will not wait forever.

Mrs. Kim- Jigna, I understand your desire to marry off Sumi soon, but she is only twelve. We have seen the consequences of such young marriages. You must think carefully before making this decision.

Kamlesh’s frustration began to show as he stood up, pacing the room.

Kamlesh- Bhabhi-sa, you keep your thoughts to yourself. You delayed Tae’s marriage for far too long. You let her study, you let her remain unmarried until now, and look where it has brought us. It almost ruined Sumi’s chances for a good match. We were fortunate the Park family didn’t pull away completely. We cannot repeat the same mistake.

Mr. Kim- Kamlesh, we did what we thought was right for Tae. Letting her study doesn’t mean we failed as parents. She is still marrying a good man, someone who will care for her. Rushing into Sumi’s marriage now… are you sure it’s for the best?

Kamlesh turned sharply to face his brother, his voice rising in anger.

Kamlesh- For the best? Bhai-sa, you’ve always been too soft. You think letting Tae study and delaying her marriage was for the best? Look at the mess it’s caused. The Park family almost walked away because of it. If you hadn’t delayed, both girls could have been married by now. But you insisted on wasting time.

Mrs. Kim, sensing the rising tension, placed a gentle hand on her husband’s arm.

Mr Kim- We are sorry for the problem caused because of our decision to let Tae study. You may decide what's best for Sumi. I will not stop you. But remember, this choice will affect Sumi's entire life. I hope you are making it with her best interests in mind, not just to satisfy the villager's gossip.

Kamlesh straightened his shoulders, his expression hardening.

Kamlesh- I am doing what is best for my daughter. I won’t allow her to suffer because of other people’s mistakes.

Mrs. Kim's heart ached for little Sumi, but she knew that Kamlesh would never back off.

Mr. Kim- Very well, Kamlesh. We will prepare for both weddings.
