(I was thinking to change Jungkook's age from 27 to 30 cuz 10 years age gap doesn't seems that unusual though... What you all think?)
Tae, her hands still trembling from the events in the kitchen, carefully walked into the dining area, balancing a large tray filled with the dishes she had prepared.
The tension in the room was thick, especially with Dadi-sa sitting at the head of the table, her stern gaze tracking every move Tae made. Jungkook sat in silence, his face stern and cold, still simmering from the earlier incident. The entire family seemed to be watching her, waiting for her to either impress or fail.
Tae's heart raced as she approached each person, placing two golden-brown kachoris on their plates, hoping desperately that the kachoris would at least turn out right.
She could feel her fingers trembling, her nerves on edge, but she managed to move from one family member to the next with a forced grace.
She finally reached Jungkook. His eyes didn't meet hers, but she could feel the weight of his presence, the anger still radiating from him. Tae swallowed hard and picked up the small pot of kadhi, stepping towards him cautiously.
As she began to pour the kadhi into his bowl, her hand shook uncontrollably, the heat of the pot only adding to her growing anxiety.
In her flustered state, she tilted the pot too far. Suddenly, a stream of hot kadhi spilled from the bowl and splashed onto Jungkook's hand.
AAHH- Jungkook quickly pulled his hand back as the hot liquid splashed onto his skin. The sharp pain made him yell out instantly.
BAWRI CHORI- he shouted, slamming his other hand onto the table in frustration, the force rattling the plates and bowls.
His eyes, burning with anger, locked onto hers.
Jk- Are you that careless? Do you not know how to serve food properly?
Tae froze, her face turning pale. The whole family went quiet, their eyes shifting between the two of them. She quickly put the pot down, her hands trembling as she tried to whisper an apology.
Tae- I—I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to—
Jk- Not even a single task can you get right without causing a mess (he said, his voice cold and biting, clearly unbothered by the audience)
His frustration from earlier, his anger at the situation, and the pressure from his family all boiled over in that moment.
Jk- First the kitchen incident, now this—do I have to watch over you at every step; huh?
Tae's eyes welled with tears, but she bit her lip to stop herself from breaking down in front of everyone. She couldn't even utter the words to defend herself.
She knew it was an accident, but his words felt like a slap. The sting of his harsh scolding, combined with the weight of everyone's gaze, made her feel small, insignificant, like she had failed again.
Dadi-sa, who had been watching the scene closely, saw her opportunity to fuel the fire.
Dadi-sa- This is what happens when you bring home a girl who is only good for books. Can't even serve a simple meal without making a mess.(she spat, her tone as cold as ever)
Tae's chest tightened at the harsh words, guilt weighing heavy on her shoulders.
Jungkook shot her a final glare before storming out of the room, leaving his food untouched. The heavy slam of the door echoed in the tense silence that followed.
