The little girl continued playing on the bed, completely absorbed in her toy. Without another word, he stepped out, closing the door gently behind him.
Tae, now alone with the child, had just finished her bath and emerged from the bathroom wearing a fresh set of clothes. As she dried her wet hair with a towel, she noticed the little girl still seated on the bed, engrossed in her toy.
A soft smile crossed Tae's face at the innocence of the scene.
She made her way toward the bed and sat down beside the child. The little girl looked up at her and broke into a wide, joyous grin, her giggle filling the quiet room.
Tae couldn't help but smile back, charmed by her warmth. Something about the child pulled at her heart, maybe her pure joy or the simple innocence in her eyes.
Tae- What's your name, sweetheart? (she asked softly, her voice tender and inviting)
She wasn't sure if the girl could understand her, so she pointed to herself and said slowly,
Tae- Tae. My name is Tae.
The girl looked at her with wide, curious eyes but didn't say anything. Tae then pointed to Jungkook's photograph on the wall and, remembering the girl's earlier words, smiled and said,
Tae- Kookie. (she repeated the action, hoping the little girl would catch on)
The child's eyes lit up in recognition.
Girl- Kookie! (she repeated, her voice filled with excitement) Kookie! (she clapped her hands happily, clearly understanding the name)
Encouraged by this, Tae pointed back to the girl and raised her brows in question, asking for her name. The girl tilted her head in thought for a moment before speaking in her broken, babyish language.
Girl- Kookie... Kookie call Jiminee.
Tae- Jiminee?
She smiled softly, but then her expression darkened as the little girl continued.
Jiminee- And... Dadi-sa say bad omen. (said, her voice small, almost unsure, as if she didn't fully understand the meaning of the words)
Tae's smile vanished at the mention of Dadi-sa's cruel words. Her heart clenched.
