In the dimly lit room of the Kim haveli, Kamlesh sat alone, swirling in a cloud of thick smoke, his eyes narrowed in rage.
His anger grew as he remembered how the once-promising marriage he had arranged for Sumi had fallen apart—all because of Jungkook's interference. He gripped the hookah pipe tightly, his knuckles turning white as he let out a frustrated growl.
It felt like an insult, a humiliation he couldn't forgive. How could Jungkook, that arrogant man, meddle in his family's business and ruin his daughter's future?
Now, Bogum had the nerve to refuse Sumi completely, moving on with some girl from the city instead. Kamlesh fumed, his thoughts racing.
Kamlesh- This is all because of that m**********r, that Jungkook. He thinks he's above us all? (he muttered, his voice simmering with bitterness)
But then, a twisted smile slowly spread across his face as a plan began to form.
Kamlesh- Ah, yes... (he whispered to himself, a cunning look gleaming in his eyes) Tomorrow is Teej, and Bhai-sa is going to Jeon haveli with gifts for Tae. It's the perfect opportunity to humiliate that b***ard at his own house.
He straightened, his expression smoothing over with a practiced calm, then made his way out of his room and down the stone corridors of the haveli, searching for Mr Kim.
He found him by the storeroom, examining a neatly wrapped stack of gifts meant for Tae. Kamlesh cleared his throat, catching Mr Kim's attention. He approached with his head lowered and a softened expression, the perfect picture of humility.
Kamlesh- Bhai-sa, I came here to speak with you. I owe you... and Tae... an apology. (his voice was low, almost regretful, as if each word cost him)
Mr Kim raised his eyebrows a little. He looked at Kamlesh, trying to understand if he really meant what he was saying.
Kamlesh- I know I've been harsh... I know I've let my anger cloud my judgment. (He continued, trying hard to keep a sorry expression on his face.) But Tae... she is my daughter too. I should never have let my temper get in the way of my love for her or for her future.
Mr Kim's expression softened, though a glimmer of doubt lingered in his eyes. Kamlesh had never been the type to apologize.
Kamlesh sighed, looking down briefly before meeting Mr Kim's eyes again.
Kamlesh- It hurts me deeply to know that I've wronged them both, Tae and Jamai-sa. I have no grudge against them now. I only want to see Tae happy, Bhai-sa.
Mr Kim nodded slowly, sensing the sincerity—or what he thought was sincerity—in Kamlesh's voice.
Mr Kim- If you mean what you say, Kamlesh, then this is a welcome change. Tae would be happy to know her Kaka-sa holds no ill will for her now.
Kamlesh smiled and placed a gentle hand on Mr Kim's shoulder, squeezing it as though to reassure him.
Kamlesh- Bhai-sa, you're going to Jeon haveli, aren't you? To deliver these gifts to Tae for Teej?
Mr Kim- Yes, It's a special occasion, and since it's her first Teej; she must receive these gifts from her Bapu-sa's house.
Kamlesh's face lit up with fake enthusiasm.
Kamlesh- Then let me come with you, Bhai-sa! Let me join you in giving these gifts to my niece. I want to see her happiness with my own eyes.
Mr Kim hesitated, still doubtful of Kamlesh's sudden change of heart.
