Waking up to the doorbell and the knocks on my door at six in the morning wasn't how I wanted to wake up. Mainly because no one comes here and if they do they have the decency to do it at a reasonable time. When I open the door and see it's Sarah I am beyond pissed. What gives her the right to just show up here? I haven't responded to her because I didn't want to and I need time to get past her lying and scheming with my husband!
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I demand.
"You haven't been responding since you got back and I wanted to make sure you're okay." She says then looks behind me at Liam.
"I'm fine. I was ignoring you. I know that doesn't normally happen to you but maybe it's time for you to get over yourself." I say.
"Lexi I understand you are mad at me however I do not want our years of friendship to be ruined." Sarah says slowly like I have issues listening. Um excuse me bitch I listen very well I heard it loud and clear that you lied to me for years.
"Guess you should have thought of that before you shit all over our friendship with my husband!" I yell at her causing Judge to start growling and Liam to come up to my back placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Lexi I said I was sorry and that I didn't know how to tell you. Can we talk in private?" She asks nodding at Liam.
As I stand there looking at this woman wondering what else we could possibly have to talk about. She cuts in saying, "Hi, I'm Sarah and I've been friends with Lexi for years could you possibly give us a few minutes to handle our business? I'm sure you and I could get to know each other after Lexi and I deal with our disagreement."
"Why so you can get close to my next chance at love and have a deeper connection with him than he has with me, again? Are you that hard up for a relationship you feel the need to take from me?" I ask.
Liam squeezes my shoulder before saying, "I have no issues giving Lexi space if she requires it and I have no business talking with you outside of the talking we have already had."
"We've talked?" She asks.
"Yup. You told him before you told me. A complete stranger had you breaking that beloved client confidentiality before you felt your best friend needed to be informed her husband was settling with her!" I laugh out.
"You're Liam McHayes." Sarah says while swallowing.
"Correct." Liam answers before turning me to face him he leans down whispering, "I can go upstairs and get ready for work if you want to be alone. I will not disrespect you Honey. I love you."
"Go get ready for work. I will be okay." I whisper back before giving a half ass smile. Liam leans the rest of the way giving me a kiss then heads back up the stairs.
"We're alone what do you want?" I turn asking Sarah.
"Could I come in? This isn't going to be a short conversation." She states.
"Sure why not. I mean you come here uninvited and now you invite yourself into my home? By all means come in!" I say throwing the door wide open stepping back and going to the kitchen to start the coffee pot. I had planned making breakfast for me and Liam this morning, getting more upset with Sarah's presents I grab the stuff for pancakes and the bacon preheating the oven on.
"Talk." I demand.
"Lexi I know I hurt you but I was trying to do what I thought was right at the time. I understand it was wrong but I can't fix anything if you won't talk to me." Sarah explained.
"So you thought rather than giving me time to process the betrayal you would ambush me? Smart move. I mean that allows for a lasting relationship. Nothing says caring like an ambush at six o'clock in the morning." I say. Mixing the pancake mix letting the griddle warm while I lay the bacon out on a baking sheet.
