F I F T Y - S E V E N
I never imagined I'd have this much fun on a simple museum date with Faye. We wandered through the art gallery, admiring the paintings, though if I'm being honest, my attention was more on her than the art itself.
There was something about the way she studied each piece with such focus, how her eyes lit up when she found something interesting.
"Look at this one," Faye said, habang turo-turo ang malaking abstract painting. "What do you think it means?"
I tilted my head, nag kukunwaring ina-analyze ito. "Hmm, maybe it's a metaphor for how chaotic we both are in the kitchen."
Faye burst out laughing, her hand covering her mouth as she tried to stifle it. "
Okay, valid point!"
Our museum date had a good mix of culture and humor, pero mas the best pa rin ang cooking lesson namin.
Was where things went sideways.
(Flashback)
We decided to sign up for a cooking class, thinking it would be fun and romantic. The idea was perfect learning to make pasta from scratch, sharing a few laughs, and maybe creating a delicious meal. But reality hit hard.
As in, sobrang epic fail.
At ako naman, I couldn't seem to roll it properly. Flour was flying everywhere, and the instructor gave us an amused smile as we both tried-unsuccessfully-not to mess up the simplest steps.
"This is harder than it looks!" Faye groaned, her hands covered in flour. "It's harder than to shoot some monkeys."
"Yeah, maybe we should stick to eating at restaurants," I joked, wiping flour off my cheek. Mamaya niya'n maisipan niya pang barilin yung instructor namin.
By the end of it, our pasta was... well, barely recognizable. We tried a taste, then exchanged a look. Sabay kaming tumawa nang malakas. Grabe, we may not be skilled in the kitchen, but at least we had fun making a mess together.
(End of Flashback)
At ngayon nandito kami sa park, to go for something more relaxing a picnic after our museum date. We laid out a blanket under a big tree, the sun shining just enough to make everything feel cozy. I brought sandwiches, fruit, and some pastries.
As we sat there, enjoying the warm breeze and each other's company, I leaned back and watched Faye as she playfully swatted a stray leaf that fell on her lap. Moments like this were perfect, no distractions, no chaos, just us and the simplicity of being together.
"This is nice," Faye said, her voice soft, as she laid her head on my shoulder. "I could do this with you forever."
I smiled, resting my head on hers. "Ako din, Misis ko. Sobrang sakto lang ang ganito. This is exactly what I want."
