FAYE POV

I was in my office at the university when there was a knock on the door. Triz walked in, followed by Chia, who seemed to be in a good mood. We had just returned last week from France to take care of some personal matters.

"Here, this is Valentine's schedule. I also put you in her first class, just like you wanted," Chia said as she handed me the folder with the topics I would be teaching in Ae's section.

I call her that since I found out she hates being called Elise.

"Seriously, Chia, why didn't you put me in section BSA-01?" my friend asked, clearly annoyed.

"What do you mean didn't? There were no available subjects to fit you in, and I've already submitted the form to Kenzie's dad," Chia teased with a smirk.

"But if you want, I can still put you in as a coach for one of the sports fields."

Triz's annoyed expression instantly changed, her eyes lighting up.

"Wait, seriously? I can coach?" she asked, her lips curling into a wide smile.

"Yep."

This fucker was already imagining herself dominating the field, showing off her skills, and, more importantly, using this as an opportunity to mess with certain players she was obsessed with.

She crossed her arms, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Now that… sounds interesting," she mused, dragging out the words as if she were already plotting her next move.

"I didn't know you had plans to return to the Philippines. And I'm surprised you want to teach here," my father said as he entered my office. Even though the thought of talking to him made me sick, I forced myself to deal with it.

My two friends were busy handling their own offices at the university, leaving me to face him alone.

Again.

"Not really. I just missed the Philippines. Besides, I think I have the right to teach here, don't I? Especially since this place is under Mom's name," I replied with a smile.

I saw his jaw clench at my words, but he held back. He knew he couldn't hurt me the way he hurt Mom and Lola.

"You always find a way to bring her up," he muttered, his tone laced with irritation.

"Why wouldn't I? She built this place with her own hands. Her name is on every wall, every document. Or did you think time would erase that?"

This is Lola's university, not his.

His eyes darkened, but he schooled his expression quickly. "That doesn't change the fact that this university still operates under my management. You might have her blood, but that doesn't mean you can walk in here and act like you own everything."

I leaned back against my chair, unfazed.

"I don't need to act, Father. I know exactly where I stand. And if my presence here makes you uncomfortable, then maybe you should ask yourself why."

His lips pressed into a thin line. For a moment, I thought he might lash out, but instead, he exhaled sharply.

"Just don't cause trouble. This isn't a playground for your personal grudges."

I let out a small chuckle, shaking my head.

"Oh, you're wrong about that. This place? It's exactly where I intend to settle my unfinished business."
