It's weird that Ae isn't paying much attention to me lately, and it's making me overthink. She only glances my way occasionally, and I can only get her attention when I call on her during class.

I tried to ignore the uneasy feeling creeping in, but it was harder than I thought. Was she losing interest? Had she finally grown tired of playing this game?

I wasn't in the mood to return to my office, and I was actively ignoring Triz, who looked way too eager to tease me today.

"Not now, Triz," I muttered, already anticipating her usual taunts.

Of course, she didn't listen.

I quickly checked myself in the mirror, smoothing my shirt and fixing my hair. Am I no longer attractive to Ae? Is she done flirting with me? Maybe she's just weak for not standing by what she started.

Triz leaned against the wall, smirking. Then, in the most annoying tone possible, she said, "Wow, Kenzie, now you're just getting ignored? That's embarrassing."

I shot her a glare. "Shut up, Triz."

She cackled. "Relax ka lang! Pero seryoso, ayan ka na naman, overthinking na parang high school na iniwan ng crush."

I rolled my eyes and turned back to my desk, trying to focus on work.

"Why are you still here? Don't you have anything better to do than hang around my office?"

Triz grinned, plopping down onto the couch like she owned the place.

"Wala eh. This is way more fun. Watching you sulk is entertaining."

I groaned, rubbing my temples. "I swear, Triz, one day—"

"One day what? You're gonna fight me? Please, look at yourself, moping around just because Amira isn't giving you attention."

I grabbed the nearest folder and tossed it at her, but she dodged effortlessly, laughing.

Damn it. I hated that she was right.

Can I shoot my bestfriend?

Triz was still lounging on my office couch, clearly satisfied with how much she had annoyed me. I was trying to get back to work, but the frustration bubbling inside me made it impossible to focus.

To change the subject, I asked casually, "Triz, how's your business? I heard you took in Eigenmann's kid at your hospital."

For context, Triz is a licensed doctor, while Chia is a lawyer.

And me? I'm just a multimillionaire with multiple companies.

Triz stretched her arms before responding, "Yeah, I trust that kid. She's sharp, and she has potential. Unlike some people who spend more time overthinking their love life than actually working." She shot me a pointed look.

I ignored the jab, flipping through the documents on my desk.

She stood up and dusted off her coat.

"Want to grab lunch?" she asked, but I just glanced at her.

I had no appetite. I needed to finish some paperwork, sign contracts, and, of course, deal with my unnecessary overthinking about my girl.

"You go ahead. I'm not hungry, and I have a meeting at USC later," I said.

Triz raised an eyebrow. "USC ba talaga? Or.. hmm Let me guess—an excuse to see Amira?"

I let out a sigh, not bothering to answer.
