Hi!!
Kerri
'You're a piece of shit John!'
'Oh because you're so fucking perfect yourself Deb!'
My parents were at it again. But it wasn't summer anymore. It was nearly autumn and I had to start school tomorrow.
As much as I'd love to stay up all night and listen to my parents express their eternal hate towards one another, I needed sleep.
Really though, I either wanted to sleep or have Spencer near me. My heart yearned for his comfort.
I wanted his strong arms around me and to hear his comforting words, trying to convince that my parents would make it.
I sat on my bed thinking about my future and my parents when I heard subtle scratches against my window. What the hell is this? A Shakespeare play?
I went to my window and opened it.
My breath caught at the sight of Spencer. He was wearing a t short and low slung pajama pants. He gave me a meek smile and a small wave.
I couldn't help but laugh. "Babe, what are you doing?" I asked gently.
He signaled me to come outside. Fuck it. It's not like I'd get sleep anyway. I adjusted my tank top and pulled down my shorts that got bundled up in my ass during my tossing and turning in my pathetic endeavor to get some sleep.
"Get over here," he pulled me into a hug as soon as I stepped outside.
Like every night, my back patio was lit up with lights and the couch and chairs looked inviting from the warm glow.
Before I could ask how he knew, he answered for me. "I felt your sadness and I needed to be here to make it go away."
This mate stuff was really astounding. He knew how I was feeling, he could sense my pain. We were bonded together forever, and I loved that. No, I wasn't so naive as to think that we'd be a perfect couple for life, but I knew that we'd always make it work. We're destined to be together by fate after all.
"You're amazing Spencer." He held me tighter and rubbed my back comfortingly.
We sat down on one of the couches and cuddled.
"You know, their fighting is getting old."
He kissed my cheek and squeezed me. "They'll be fine. Your parents will figure their stuff out and everything will be fine."
It was quiet for a while. "I wish they'd just get a divorce already. They don't even pay attention to me because they're too busy fighting. What kind of parents are they?"
"You know they love you." He kissed my forehead.
"But that doesn't make up for their absentee fucking parenting Spence. I just want to leave sometimes. Get away from this bullshit."
"Come stay with me." His words slipped out so easily as if it wasn't such a huge deal. He must have felt my apprehension because he swore and back tracked. "Think about it. If you ever need a place to stay, you're always welcome."
"That's very sweet of you. Thank you," I kissed the tip of his nose.
All I need is my parent's love. I need them to show me they love me, that they care. Actions speak louder than words, and at this point there hasn't been many words spoken towards me.
My parents were too busy stuck in their own dysfunction that they proceeded to forget my existence.
'Make it through this year and you'll be in college.' I had to remind myself of something that can keep me motivated.
"Come one let's get you to bed, you have a big day tomorrow."
Spencer got up and picked me up with him. We made our way inside and to my room. He tucked me in and kissed my cheek before heading towards the window.
"You could probably just walk out the back door," I chuckled.
"Yeah, but it's more exciting this way," he winked and jumped.
My heart skipped a beat at the sound of the thud. That boy was going to drive me crazy. But dammit, I can't complain. I loved everything about that sexy werewolf.
