Kerri

"You don't have to do this. I can take you back home. Just say the word." Spencer looked at me with sincere and panicked eyes. Boy was he freaking out. The entire ride to his parents' home he was telling me that I could back out and we could go to dinner by ourselves.

"Spence, I'm fine. I've already met the majority of your family, and I think they like me just fine."

"They do, they do! I just... I don't want to overwhelm you or make you feel pressured."

"Spencer," I cupped his cheek. "I'll be fine." I kissed him gently on the lips and slowly pulled away.

"We can leave whenever, okay?"

"I got it," I chuckled. Spencer held my hand as we walked to the doorstep. The door swung open before we could even ring the bell.

Zippora and Sage were standing at the door with wide smiles. "Hey guys," I gave them hugs as I entered.

His house was phenomenal. It was in the midst of a forest that was out of the city area. I think the drive was only about half an hour from my home in Glendale.

There were large pillars that stretched horizontally across the ceiling for support. There were also many windows and stone features used in the exterior.

"I love your home," I complimented Zippora. "And it's well decorated."

I turned to look at Spencer who was following behind. "You should have brought me over sooner," I chided.

His cheeks grew red in color and I knew he was embarrassed. "Sorry."

"Everyone's in the kitchen, sweetheart."

I took a deep breath in preparation for meeting Spencer's dad and older brother.

Laughter and casual talk was coming from the kitchen. You could hear everyone before you saw them.

Before I could mentally check myself, Spencer's dad was right in front of me. "Hi Kerri, I'm Joel, Spencer's father." Joel had salt and pepper hair with broad shoulders and a warm smile. His eyes were the same as Spencer's.

"Hello," I smiled back. Joel's warm presence relaxed me and made me feel welcomed and at home.

"I'm Sean," a tall, bulky male stood by his father. His hair was brown and his eyes were hazel. Just like his father, his smile was warm and his eyes lit up.

"Nice to meet you," I shook his oversized hand.

"Likewise. It's nice to finally put the face to the name. Spencer's description of you didn't do you justice," he winked at Spencer.

"Sean, behave yourself."

My eyes flitted across the room to find the owner of the voice. I thought I heard it before but couldn't figure out why the person would be here. At last, I found her: Laurie.

I gave her a questioning glance.

She grinned at my blatant confusion, "Kerri, this is my fiancé, Sean." Laurie walked over to stand next to her linebacker sized man.

My jaw dropped. She wrapped her arm around his bicep and cuddled closer. Her gorgeous ring sparkled in the light. "Oh my goodness! How could I have not known?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked with wide eyes. The question was for Laur, Spence, and the girls. How could they have failed to mention something so huge.
