I hope you guys love this!
Kerri
"Stella! You're cheating!" I stared her down until she moved her red playing piece back two spaces.
"Stella is a serious cheater. I forgot to mention that," Spencer kissed my cheek and squeezed my waist.
"You guys are so cute it's gross." Sage scrunched her face up in disgust.
"Don't be jealous. I'm sure you'll find someone that likes you." I winked at her and Spencer mumbled something about hurting any guy that came near her.
"Oh hush up and roll the dice."
It was another quiet night at the Crosswell home so I invited Spencer and his sisters over to hang out. Some how we ended up playing Sorry and snacking on carmel corn.
I rolled a five and moved the destined number of soaces on the board. "There."
We played aimlessly for a while longer before I got bored and rested my head in Spencer's lap. "Let's go out."
"Where do you want to go?"
I shrugged. "What do you guys want to do?"
"Let's go boy hunting." Sage batted her eyelashes dreamily and sighed.
"Or we could go on an adventure."
"What kind of an adventure?"
"There's a park down the street with a forest. Sometimes my friends and I would sneak out and go out there with flashlights and play tag.
"Flashlight tag?"
"Mmhmm. It was really fun."
"Spencer I wanna go!"
"That doesn't sound like a good idea."
The girls looked at him with bug riund eyes and pouts. When he wouldn't budge, they looked at me expectantly.
"Spencer, it will be a lot of fun. Don't you want us to have a fun Summer?" He looked away from me, so I moved closer to him. "Spencer, please? We'll be careful! And we can play in teams! I'll call Susie and we'll have three teams of two. It will be fun Spency."
He sighed and I knew I had him way befire he said, "Well, I guess we can go."
The girls squealed and I told them where we kept our flashlights. I called Susie and told her about it and she invited a lot of our friends to come with.
At the park, Spencer and the girls and I sat in his Jeep until everyone arrived. We broke into teams of two, and set out with our flashlights after figuring out who would be it.
We all got two minutes to go in and hide.
"Where should we hide Kerri?"
"There's this huge rock that we can hide behind," I laced my fingers with Spencer's and led the way with my flashlight on.
The moon was pretty helpful in lighting up the forest. It shined through the canopy and helped us find our way to the big rock. Unfortunately, a group was already hiding there so Spencer and I had to settle on hiding behind a wide tree.
In the distance we could hear girly screams, giggles, and footsteps crushing the leaves and snapping fallen branches.
"Shh," Spencer whispered when we heard footsteps nearby and the glimpse of artificial light.
For a second, I thought we were caught until the footsteps moved to a different area.
"This is fun," Spencer admitted.
"Don't sound so surprised; I'm always right."
"You know what would make this even better?"
My heart fluttered, and my ears were eager to hear what would slip past his lips.
"What?"
"A kiss." He leaned his head down so that his lips were hovering over mine.
"I think you're right," my lips brushed against his. My heart beat faster in anticipation and I had to fight myself to keep from throwing myself at him.
Spencer leaned his head down lower, and our lips finally met for the first time. His lips cordially greeted mine and my lips responded cheerfully.
"Gotcha!" I jumped, noticing the light that was beaming across my face and the tree behind us. "A little lip action, huh Kerri?"
I blushed and stood up with Spencer's hand in mine. "Just a little Shay," I stuck my tongue out at my blonde friend.
"Are you ready to kick some ass?" I flicked on my flashlight, aiming it out in front of us.
"Yes, ma'am," he lightly pressed his lips against mine and smiled. "Let's go."
