A few days after Kim Seokmin's sentencing, Aera and the team decided to confront him in prison. The anger and unresolved feelings weighed heavily on everyone, but especially on Jimin and Aera. They needed closure, though the thought of seeing him again stirred a whirlwind of emotions.
The air was thick with tension as they entered the cold, dimly lit visitation area of the prison. Kim Seokmin sat behind a glass window, his eyes devoid of remorse. Jimin was given two minutes alone with him while the others watched from a distance, each of them silently holding their breath, waiting to see how Jimin would handle the confrontation.
As Jimin sat down across from Seokmin, the older man gave him a condescending smile.
"Well, well, if it isn't my little spy," Seokmin said mockingly. "Come to thank me for the life I trained you for?"
Jimin kept his composure, though his fists clenched under the table. "Why did you do it?" he asked, his voice steady but filled with underlying emotion.
Seokmin leaned forward slightly, his eyes glinting with malice. "I never liked your parents. They were weak, soft-hearted, and in my way. So, I burned that building to the ground and made sure you'd be useful to me. I didn't train you to protect you, Jimin. I did it to keep you close, to make sure I knew everything you knew. I was always aware that Mr. Kim's daughter would come looking for me someday."
Jimin's heart sank as the weight of Seokmin's words hit him. "You trained me not for my safety, but so you could watch her."
Seokmin grinned wickedly. "Exactly. I just didn't know that girl would be Aera. Funny, isn't it? The one person you cared for was the one I needed to keep tabs on."
Jimin's time was up, and he stood up silently, turning away from Seokmin's smug face. He walked back to the group, his expression a mix of shock and betrayal. Everyone's eyes were on him, waiting for him to explain.
"What did he say?" RM asked gently, seeing the turmoil in Jimin's face.
Jimin took a breath and looked at Aera. "He said... he never liked my parents. He only trained me to spy on you, Aera. He knew that one day Mr. Kim's daughter would try to find out the truth. He just didn't realize it was you."
Aera's face went pale, and then something inside her snapped. Rage flooded through her, consuming her thoughts. She felt her pulse in her ears, her vision narrowing on the man who had manipulated her life from behind the scenes.
"He said what?" Aera's voice was low, but it was shaking with fury.
Before anyone could react, Aera lunged toward Seokmin, her fists clenched, ready to unleash all the pain and anger that had built up inside her. It wasn't just about her anymore—it was about Jimin, too. Seokmin had torn apart both of their lives for his selfish gain.
"You manipulative coward!" Aera screamed, trying to push past the guards who immediately stepped in to restrain her. "You killed my father! You ruined Jimin's life! You think you'll get away with this?"
The others rushed to hold her back, Jungkook and V grabbing her arms while RM and Jin tried to calm her down. "Aera, stop! He's not worth it!" RM yelled, but Aera's eyes were wild with fury.
"You think you can just say those things and walk away? You think this is over?!" she shouted, struggling against the grip of her friends. Her anger was like a fire that couldn't be extinguished, especially after hearing how Seokmin had used Jimin so callously.
Seokmin watched the chaos unfold with a smirk. "You should've stayed away, little girl. Now look at what your foolishness has caused. I won't rot here forever. And when I'm out, you'll regret crossing me."
