on the next day

sana's pov

As I walked into the school courtyard the next morning, the sun seemed a little brighter, the air a bit fresher. For the first time in what felt like forever, my heart felt... lighter. The weight that I'd been carrying around—the secrets, the lies, the hidden truth—it all seemed a bit easier to bear. And maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with Jimin and that moment we shared yesterday.

My lips curved into a small smile, a natural one, without even thinking about it. It felt strange at first, almost foreign, but also... nice. I noticed a few students looking at me, their eyes wide with surprise. I wasn't the type to smile often—or at all, really. And it seemed like my sudden change in demeanor had caught them off guard.

I caught sight of the rest of the BTS members lounging by the steps near the main entrance. As soon as they noticed me, their chatter died down, and their eyes widened. It was as if they were seeing a ghost.

Jin blinked a few times, his eyes comically wide. "Did... did I just see that right?" he whispered loudly to Yoongi, who looked equally stunned.

Yoongi raised an eyebrow, his usual poker face cracking a bit. "Did Sana just smile?"

Taehyung leaned forward, nearly dropping the drink he was holding. "Woah, is it just me, or did the sun just get a little brighter?" he joked, earning a chuckle from Jungkook.

"Hey, Sana! Did you finally decide to show us those pearly whites?" Jungkook called out, a teasing grin on his face. "I was starting to think you didn't have teeth!"

I couldn't help but roll my eyes, but my smile didn't fade. "You guys are ridiculous," I replied, shaking my head.

Hoseok, ever the sunshine, clapped his hands excitedly. "This is a momentous day! We should celebrate. Who knew you could smile like that?"

"Seriously, Sana," Namjoon added with a thoughtful nod, "it suits you. You should smile more often."

Jimin, who was leaning casually against the wall, his eyes locked on me with a soft, knowing expression, finally spoke up. "Told you guys she could smile," he said with a smirk, clearly pleased with himself.

I glanced at him, feeling a warmth spreading through me that I couldn't quite place. "Don't get too cocky, Jimin," I shot back, but the playfulness in my voice was undeniable.

As we all headed inside for class, I realized just how different today felt. Maybe it was because, for the first time, I felt a bit more like myself. The heavy cloak of secrecy and deception that I wore every day felt lighter. For once, I wasn't hiding behind a cold exterior. I was just... me.

And that felt good.

Maybe this was what freedom felt like—the ability to smile whenever I wanted without a care. And as I walked beside Jimin and the rest, I wondered if this was just the beginning.

The morning classes flew by faster than usual, probably because my mind was still buzzing from the sudden attention I got from the guys. Their excitement over something as simple as my smile was a bit overwhelming but also... endearing.

As the lunch bell rang and we all gathered outside, the energy around us was buzzing with Friday vibes. Jin was the first to suggest it, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Alright, since it's such a special day, how about we celebrate it? What do you guys say? Arcade at XXX?"

Taehyung immediately perked up, his face lighting up like a kid being offered candy. "Ooh, I'm in! We haven't been to the arcade in a while. Sana, you in?"
