I left Wonwoo in our room since he decided he wanted to start on that story of his. It was still about 10:30 in the morning, and I figured, what better time to scour the area than now?

Would buying him a gift be too much?

Is he going to think I'm being cheesy again?

But I really want to spoil him though.

I wandered around the plaza, letting myself get lost in the vibe of the entire place. I eventually found myself in front of a small, cozy stall. The vendor had all sorts of little trinkets and knick-knacks—each one more charming than the last. The variety made it tough to choose, especially since everything looked so cute to me.

"Looking for something, young lad?" The old lady behind the stall stood up from her stool and flashed me a grin that could only be described as a classic merchant's smile—warm, knowing, and a little bit too convincing.

"Oh, nothing in particular really. Just wanted to see what could be good as a small gift."

She walked around her stall and joined me right at the front. Her small stature made me feel warm and protective somehow.

"Is it for a loved one?" she asked, her eyes twinkling.

"Yes." I replied, Wonwoo's grumpy face flashing right before my eyes as I did.

"What is it about this person you like so much?"

"Too many things to list, honestly. If I start going on, I might be talking your ear off for hours, halmoni."

"Goodness, boy, you sure are a sap." She lightly shoved her small fist into my arm, then placed the same hand on her chin, thoughtfully scanning her items as she considered what might be the best choice for me.

"Does your person have any hobbies?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Hmmm... writing." I replied, thinking for a moment.

Without missing a beat, she handed me a small journal with a matching pen. "This should be perfect, then."

The leather notebook felt smooth and solid in my hands, like it was made with real care. It was the perfect size—not too bulky, but still had some weight to it. The pen had a nice heft as well—definitely not your typical one. The gold accents on the cap and barrel added a touch of class, and the clip, also in gold, caught the light just right.

"I'll take it." I said, already imagining how he'd react to it.

I decided to grab takeout for lunch since I didn't want to bother him if he was already in the middle of writing.

He seemed to really enjoy meat, so burgers might be the best option.

Thankfully, I spotted a burger joint along the path I was walking and went straight in.

The place was fairly crowded—not packed, but it was clear this spot had its regulars. I walked up to the counter, ordered our meal, and it came out surprisingly quick. With food in hand, I made my way back to our accommodation.

The walk back was incredibly peaceful. The air was fresh, the breeze was cool, and the sound of the waves and children laughing and playing in the distance was calming. Bringing Wonwoo here was definitely a good call.

"Wonwoo?" I walked into our room and found him sitting on the couch, staring seriously at the laptop. He didn't seem to notice me yet, so I decided not to interrupt him for now.

I set the food I'd just picked up on the kitchen table, making sure not to forget the small gift I had for him. Carefully, I tucked it away in a cupboard that seemed too plain to draw any attention. Once his gift was hidden, I plated our food. Even though it was just burgers, I thought it would be nice to make them look a little more inviting, hoping it would make him even more eager to dig in.
