Chapter 7

"Korra Sasaki, please report to the COO/CFO's office, over" Korra heard her radio, she stood up from the front desk chair that was next to zhu li and walked to the elevator.

Korra knocked on the door before entering seeing Asami on a phone call. Korra waited by the door after closing it.

Asami pointed at the seat in front of her desk signaling Korra to sit and wait. Asami hung up the phone and looked at Korra.

"What? Is this about last night, and you want me to make it up" Korra raised a brow

"It's not" Asami was being serious "this about you being at risk of losing your job"

Korra's eyes widened "what? Is it because of us? Because I said 'no' and you know that" Korra got defensive "I can stop"

Asami was surprised by Korra's response "No Korra, it's about how my father hasn't done a background check on you" Asami sat back in her chair crossing her legs and arms "Now is there something you want to tell me before we proceed?"

"No..." Korra didn't know how to react

"Are you sure?"

"Where is this coming from?" Korra asked

"Alright, if you don't want tell me anything I'll run one and hear from a paper first than you" Asami said

"That's fine, my records are clean" Korra crossed her arms

"take the day, and go get fingerprinted" she handed Korra a file for her to fill in "once that comes in cleared you'll come back to work till then I don't want you in here"

"What?" Korra questioned.

"Safety precautions" Asami raised a brow "Take the day, Korra, I'm not going to tell you again"

Korra was in disbelief. She didn't know why Asami was acting like this towards her, but then again, Asami can't be biased, she has to think about the company.

"Alright Ms. Sato" Korra stood up walking out the door. That was the first time Korra called her by her last name, and for some reason. Asami hated it.

—hours later—

After getting fingerprinted and going though the process, Korra ended up going to the gym instead of home. After the gym Korra went to pick up some food for herself since Bolin got invited to a small party with Opal. He ended up picking up her car from the gym too, so she's been using the bus to get around.

She went to her favorite sushi spot to pick up an order she already called in.

The guy handed her a bag and she tipped the guy. She turned around finding Ginger leaving a table. "Korra?" She noticed her

"Hey Ginger" Korra smiled at her "what are you doing here?"

"I was supposed to meet up with some guy but he's 15 minutes late so I'm leaving, letting him find an empty table" she laughed

"Well, I ordered extra forgetting my roommates out for the night, wanna come over?" Korra offered

"You know what, fuck it, let's go" They laughed as they walked out the place and got in Ginger's car heading to Korra's place.

Korra let Ginger in and set up the living room so they can watch a movie while they ate.

"Did you want to change into something more comfortable?" Korra asked the girl since she was in a dress and heels

"That would be great" Ginger was thankful

Korra handed the girl joggers and a t-shirt. Ginger changed and re-joined Korra in the living room.
