Chapter 16

They got to the estate and Asami set up a guess room for her father. Korra and Mako were quick to help. Hiroshi noticed how Korra knew where everything was meaning this wasn't her first time being here.

Hiroshi thanked the team and rested on the bed. Mako and Korra left to wait in the car. Hiroshi watched as Asami folded blankets putting them to the side just in case.

"So you and Mako?" He said getting the girl's attention "how's that going?"

"It's going..." Asami said clearing her throat "it's complicated"

"I'm guessing Korra is what's making it complicated" he said

Her eyes widened "what?"

"Please im your father, I know what's going on. we'll talk when you come home" he said

Once they made it back to the company, Korra went straight to the security room and the couple went to Asami's office.

"When are we going to talk about this?" Mako asked

"About what?"

"You and me? Korra and you? Come on Asami, what's going on?" Mako said "why are you doing this to me?"

"Its not like I want to" She said saddened "I just, I don't know"

Asami didn't know what to do. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"We'll just do what you said, we'll break up making us both single, so you can go on dates with whoever and so can I" she said "and if you still want to be with me, then we'll go out on dates and everything, I just need time to figure out what I want"

"I don't want to actually do that, I want you to pick already, you had a month with her, isn't that enough time?!" Mako had an attitude Asami didn't want to deal with at the moment

"Can you leave, I just need to be alone right now and think about everything, I'll give you an answer by tomorrow since you're so desperate for one" she said. Mako scoffed and walked away slamming the door behind him.

She buried herself in paperwork right after. She was so focused she got everything done in less than 3 hours. She had spare time.

Since her father wasn't here, she's going to have to be the one to close down the company so she had to be the last one to leave.

"Ms. Sato" she heard her office phone "I have a Samantha G. here to see you"

Asami's eyes widened at the name. She pressed the button on her phone to turn on her mic "send her up" she told Zhu Li

a minute later a knock at the door caught her attention. A woman with blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and a perfect body walked in. "Asami, how are you?"

"I'm alright, you?" She asked getting up to hug the girl

"I've been better" the girl took a seat on the couch and crossed her legs

"what are you doing here?" she took a seat next to her

"I heard about your father through my dad, so I drove from the fire nation to check on the two of you since he couldn't. how's he doing?"

"he's fine, thank you" Asami informed. The First Nation was a 2 hour drive, she was surprised Samantha took the trip.

"so, what's new?"

"nothing really" Asami said

Samantha and Asami were best friends since a young age because of their fathers who were college roommates. Hiroshi actually wanted Asami to marry Samantha's older brother, but Asami dodged that bullet. Asami and Samantha would talk everyday, but once Samantha moved and Asami got more responsibilities with the company, they lost track of each other after a while.
