Chapter 24

-3 months later-

Opal, Bolin, Mako and Asami were at Kai and Jinora's place catching up on some things.

"Isn't Korra coming home tomorrow?" Jinora asked

"Yeah" Asami smiled at the thought of seeing Korra again

"So what's the plan for you two?" Bolin asked Asami

"Are yall jumping straight into marriage?" Kai asked

"What? No, way way too soon for that shit" Asami crossed her arms

"But you two have known each other long enough, you two just had some lost years" Mako pointed out

"Yeah, but still, I don't think Korra would want that right away" Asami shrugged

"Not only that, but Asami has Yasuko to think about" Jinora pointed out

"But I thought Yasuko loves Korra" Opal said

"Please she only met Korra once or twice, but she can like her as a person not as a step mom" Jinora added

"Woah, she's not going to be Yasuko's step mom" Asami stopped the conversation

"Well if you marry Korra, that's what will happen" Opal raised a brow

"If me and Korra were to get married that doesn't mean she has to take responsibility for a kid, I'm not expecting her to parent my child"

"Well, this is Korra we're talking about" Mako added in "wether she marries you or stay as your friend, she's spoiling our kid, she'll do anything for her, that's how Korra is"

Asami just rolled her eyes "speaking of Yasuko, I have to go pick up from school" Asami said as she got up from the couch and headed towards the door.

Once Asami was gone, Bolin stood up "anyways I have to get going too" he said

"Um...? Where do you have to be?" Opal raised a brow

"I have errands to do" Bolin said

"I didn't hear anything about errands" Opal crossed her arms "and I normally do errand runs with you"

"Did you want to join me?" Bolin said with a chuckle

"Yes" Opal smiled happily following Bolin as they said their goodbyes

Opal got in the car with Bolin, he was still borrowing Korra's car "so what are we going to do?"

"We're picking up Korra from the airport" Bolin simply said

"Wait she's here already?" Opal asked "I thought she comes in tomorrow"

"She kinda lied to everyone" Bolin shrugged

"Why did she come early? And why did she lie?" Opal questioned

"If I had to guess it's because today also marks the anniversary of her parents passing, normally every year on this day, she's at her most vulnerable still" Bolin said "I'm guessing she didn't want anyone to see her yet"

"Would she be ok that I'm here?" Opal asked

"Yeah, she's just more concerned with the rest of the group and Asami" Bolin said

"Hi sweet face, how was school?" Asami asked her daughter as she took her hand into hers and walked towards the car.

"It was ok"

"Just ok?"

"Yeah, boring mostly... I got to draw during free time!" Yasuko said excitedly
