Chapter 26

Asami's heart raced. Her stomach was twirling. Her mind was full of thoughts. The love of her life, right in front of her, was down on her knee, asking for her hand in marriage.

"Are you being serious?" Asami couldn't believe it

"I never been more serious about anything in my life... this is what I want more than anything" Korra said "so what do you say?"

"Yes" Asami smiled and Korra didn't skip a beat kissing the woman happily. Korra placed the ring on Asami's finger, a perfect fit.

Asami helped Korra clean up but couldn't help but glance at the ring, it had multiple diamonds and a huge one in the center. It was gorgeous.

"You like it?" Korra asked walking up to the woman who wrapped her arms around Korra's shoulders

"I love it" Asami said planting a kiss on Korra's lips as she felt her now fiancée's hands on her waist. Asami released from the kiss "I think we should start discussing plans"

"Mhmm" Korra hummed as she went back for a kiss

"Korra, I'm serious" Asami giggled feeling Korra's lips now on her neck

Korra stopped and looked at Asami "you want to talk about it right this second?" Korra raised an eyebrow

Asami looked at Korra's lips then back up at Korra's eyes. "Eh we always have tomorrow" Asami said making Korra laugh as they reconnected their lips.

—next morning—

Asami woke up to the sun hitting her face, she stretched and turned over finding Korra's bare back facing her. Asami traced her hand over Korra's back, only for her ring to sparkle in the sun. Her hand then felt the scar that was on the back of Korra's shoulder, reminding her of the way she got the wound.

Korra turned over pulling the woman closer to her. "Good morning" Asami said as Korra nuzzled into her neck

"Morning" Korra said in a half asleep way

"Come on, we gotta get our day started" Asami kissed Korra on the head earning a hum "babe" Asami giggled "don't you wanna talk about our plans for our future?"

"Alright alright, I'm up" Korra said stretching before getting up

Asami got up putting fresh clothes on and started her hair. Korra did the same but she was trying not to fall back asleep while putting on pants.

"I was thinking, since I have to pick up Yasuko from my father's, maybe we can take him out for breakfast and tell him the news" Asami smiled looking over at Korra who was putting on her shoes

"Yeah, we can do that" Korra said as they both got up ready to leave the house

"And you two are serious about this?" Hiroshi looked over at his daughter and her now fiancée

"Yes" they both said happily

He looked over at Yasuko who was enjoying her waffles and her side of fruit then back at the women "does she know what's going on?"
