Chapter 10

Korra got up early and left without eating breakfast. She went to Kai's house to set up for his birthday party. She agreed to help him out and then leave to get ready and come back.

"So is your girl coming?" Kai asked as they were organizing the snack tables

"She's not my girl, and no" Korra said in a tone that said it all

"What happened?" He asked

"Nothing, just I brought up how lately we've been spending so much time together and I asked a stupid question" Korra simply put it

"Let me guess the 'what are we?' Question" Kai said with a chuckle

"Yeah, she basically said 'I thought we disclosed this from the start' meaning just fuck buddies" Korra rolled her eyes

"Ok, well, then be that" Kai said making Korra look at him confused "look, what I'm saying is, if she asks you to come over, have sex and leave, why stay? If she doesn't want to take things serious with you, why should you?"

"Yeah, you're right"

"And if having sex with her is too much already then just stop" He said.

Korra was listening to his advice, maybe she should stop. But could she really. She just couldn't help but think about how awkward it would be to see Asami again.

Korra got ready at her apartment after helping out Kai. She slipped on khaki cargos, a white fitted T-shirt with a loose light blue crewneck sweater over it and for shoes she went with her white forces.

"Bo you ready to go? We're late" She asked coming out her room as she put on a silver watch to match her silver necklace with a silver wing on it that she put on last minute

"Yeah" Bolin said getting out his room as he was putting up his zipper for his green sweater. He wore black baggy jeans, a black polo shirt and black new balances.

"Do we need to pick up Opal?" Korra asked

"No, she's going to meet us there" Bolin said as they walked out the door.

They headed to the party seeing everyone was already there. Korra was surprised by how many people showed up. All of Kai's coworkers were there and their plus ones, and old friend from his college showed up, some of them he already knew from high school.

"We're gonna need more alcohol" Bolin said

"I'll talk to Kai, before we make that decision" Korra said

They went inside looking for the birthday boy. They found him with Jinora talking to some coworkers. "Oh hey guys" he smiled at his two friends "this is Janet and Carlos, they work with me, guys these are my best friends, Korra and Bolin" he introduced them

They all talked about how they met Kai and then moved on to the living room "who else is here?" Bolin asked

"Well, Opal just got here" Kai pointed at the door making Bolin snap his head that direction and quickly got up to say hi to his girlfriend.

Kai, Jinora and Korra laughed at Bolin's actions.

"I wasn't expecting this many people" Korra said

"No kidding, half of these people I don't even know" Kai laughed

"That reminds me, do you need me to run to the store to get more booze?" Korra asked

"Oh no, you shouldn't, you already spent a lot yesterday, did the guys even pay you back?" Kai asked

"Nope, I think they forgot the whole deal in the first place" Korra sighed

"Well I'll make Mako and Iroh get it"

"Mako and Iroh get what?" A man asked. The two that were conversating seeing that it was Iroh in the flesh with a girl around his arm

"Ginger?" Korra raised a brow

"Oh my god, Korra? What are you doing here?" Ginger was surprised to see Korra

"Oh um, Kai is actually a best friend of mine"

"How you two know each other?" Kai asked

"We work together at the company" Korra answered

"What a small world" Iroh said staring Korra down

"Anyways, you think you can go with Mako to the store to get us more booze?" Kai asked

"can't cause I don't have a car and I'm broke" he said "Mako's looking for parking too and once he finds parking he's not gonna wanna move" Iroh said making Korra annoyed

"Jesus, I'll just go" Korra rolled her eyes "tell your dog I'm gonna wait for him in my car, I'm using his wallet" She said and she walked outside to her car. Luckily Kai let her park in the garage.

Korra got in the driver seat and started her car as the garage door was opening "great, I have to save my car again" she said to herself.

It's been several minutes till finally the door opened and Mako got in.

"I can't believe you're making me come with you" Mako said

"No talking in my car, I don't need your hot ass breath in here" Korra said driving off

"You're such an asshole"

"Takes one to know one"

"Why are you making me come with you if you can't stand me?" Mako asked

"Because you're gonna pay for everything"

"Like hell I'm not" he said making Korra step on the breaks "what the hell is wrong with you?!"

"Listen you prick, you left me and Kai hanging yesterday, you were supposed to put your money in so Kai wouldn't spend anything, no one showed up and I had to pull money out my ass to afford everything" Korra pointed at him "you can buy a couple bottles, or so help me god I will shove this foot up your ass"

"Alright alright, jeez, you don't have to be so hostile" he surrendered

The rest of the car ride was silent.

After grabbing everything and mako paying they went back to the party.

Korra parked the car and called Bolin to help out bring the stuff in. She cared 2 cases of beer, Bolin grabbed 2 bags that had bottles in the and Mako grabbed the last 2 cases.

As they were walking inside Mako was complaining the whole time "I can't believe you made me buy this much shit"

"Jesus, do you always gotta be a cheap ass"

"Do you always gotta be rude" he said as they made it to the group

"Oh go cry me a fucking river Mako" Korra rolled her eyes

Kai noticed them in the middle of an argument but he needed to talk to Korra before anything, but it was too late.

Korra looked over to her friends noticing an extra body in the group. Her eyes widened at the sight of the woman. She looked at Kai seeing that he was worried. She looked back at the girl confused, the girl was just as confused.

Mako cleared his throat "you two probably met because of work but Asami this is Korra, Bolin and Kai's best friend, Korra this is Asami, my girlfriend"
