No Strings Attached

Chapter 9

Korra decided to go for drinks with Kai since her best friend is busy and Asami already had plans.

"So, how's it going with Asami? It's been what, 3 days?" Kai asked as he ordered himself a cocktail

"I think I am starting to like her" Korra finally admitted "we had hours of us just talking or being in each other's company" Korra smiled as she took a sip of scotch

"That's real good!" Kai was happy for her "you think she likes you too?"

"Well, at first before she brought up this idea of a relationship she admitted that she did, but now I don't know. What if she's used to what we have and want nothing else?" Korra started to think

"Come on Korra, it's you, who wouldn't want to be with you" Kai laughed "if she don't want you, oh well, there's other women in the world, besides, with that background of yours, every girl wants to be with you"

"What are you talking about?" Korra asked

"Remember that one time we dropped Jinora off at the salon one time?" He asked earning a nod "well she over heard some girls talking about you,  and said some stories I wish I didn't know" Kai thought about it and got chill "egh, anyways, yeah, you some kind of lady killer"

Korra looked down at her glass. It's true, Korra did have many moments with many women. There was never a day when Korra went to the club and didn't leave with a chick.

She was used to waking up in a different bed after a night out of fun, and how Bolin got used to making an extra plate of food if Korra went home with someone.

"I don't want to be that anymore" Korra downed her drink and ordered another

"What's wrong with what you're doing, you're single and experiencing life, good for you, if anything" Kai said

"You don't get it" she took a sip of her 2nd drink "you have Jinora, you have a guarantee future"

"Korra, you don't need someone to have a future" Kai patted her back "sure it's nice, but when you have to wake up in the morning, you can't go to work without telling her Goodmorning. If you're eating lunch you text her letting her know, you made it somewhere you gotta let her know, you have to make sure she's ok all the time, when she's upset and lacks communication you have to sit there and guess or get it out of her" Kai rolled his "it's always the same shit"

"But you'll do all those things anyway because you love her" Korra said

Kai smiled "and I'll do it again with her in my next life"

—Next Day—

Korra was half way through her shift which meant it was time for her to go on break. She clocked out for break till she noticed Asami walking into the company late.

Asami sped walked to the elevator.

Korra raised a brow seeing the girl looked flustered. She was late for work after all, that's unlike her.

Asami opened the file drawer talking out 2 folders and looked through them while following the notes she had. She was also looking through emails that she missed yesterday.
